Lock up giroux long term now!

As soon as the Shea weber ordeal is resolved (hopefully with him being on the flyers next season) the flyers need to immediately turn their attention to resigning giroux long term. For two reasons:

1) the Flyers will be a target for having their RFA signed to offer sheets and with their constant salary cap issues they might not be in a position to match every offer, especially with players like giroux schenn and couturier coming RFA around the same time.

2) the CBA is up and these long front loaded contracts will probably be eliminated or the cap hit being the actually salary in lieu of the average salary. So the next few months will be the only time to sign giroux to a similar deal of weber, suter, & parise.

I say a 13 year, 100 mil deal could do the trick...

We will have no problems re-signing him

u jelly

disagree..

mainly cuz Roo is a awesome player who appears to have no interest in leaving Philly, and secondly Snider wont let him EVER reach RFA status..

Roo is a Flyer for as long as he wants to be..

if anyone is untouchable in the Flyers Org. its Roo.. i wouldnt sweat this for even 1 moment

How many times do people have to be told. You can't re-sign a player unless they are in the last year of their contract. Giroux has 2 years left.

What's to say we don't just extend him before he can be offer sheeted
