Mtl - Philly

Alex Galchenyuk + 2nd rounder.
for
Sean Couturier.

if not enough given id add in another prospect or draft pick.. wtv.

stupid and useless i know..
and some of you will start criticizing but idc.
i just really like Couturier as a player and since hes a Quebecer
it would be nice to have him as a montreal canadien.

im not saying that this trade would ever happen.
im just saying it would be sweet if we can deal something
out with philly, like this kind of trade for Couturier.
id be ready to overpay...

Jray42 07-20-2012 04:28 PM

Sean Couturier isn't getting traded.

rypper 07-20-2012 04:29 PM

nope. Couturier is a proven commodity who will only get better. galenychuk only has potential.

Your offer sure doesn't show that.

Roo Mad Bro 07-20-2012 04:38 PM

I like Galchenyuk but this Flyers team is trying to win now.

In ANY case, I'd give at least a year of pro hockey to Alex Galchenyuk before thinking of making that move...

CP31 07-20-2012 04:40 PM

Both teams say no

do you mean Habs might make a big mistake?
or do you mean Galchenyuk needs to prove hes worth
as much as Couturier?

By default, i guess you can the first answer, but that wasn't my point.

but thats the point of my trade proposal.
it can work both ways.
if we give Galchenyuk couple of years in the NHL
and he becomes a star or a much better player than Couturier.
i wouldn't want to make the trade anymore.
But if Galchenyuk ends up not being better then Couts,
flyers won't want...
risky trade for both.
but i personally think the chances are that Galchenyuk will become a better player.
but that's my opinion. loll

IceDaddy 07-20-2012 04:58 PM

No thanks. Philly would want too much. I am not saying it wouldnt be worth overpaying but in the end Couts had 1 good year on a stacked team.

true dat!
but id take the risk.
bring dem Quebecers at home!! haha

Habsrback 07-20-2012 05:02 PM

Philly would have to be crazy to make this trade at this point now, and if Galchenyuk turuns out to be what he is supposed to be, there would be no point for the habs neither.

Looks like you got your answer.

Greenstickytoes* 07-20-2012 05:37 PM

risk for both teams but its a higher risk for the Habs since Gally is supposed to be better than Couty. I would do it as well, since Couty is in fact a quebecer but unfortunately the NHL doesn't work that way. both teams will keep their respective players no matter what nationality they are unless one of the teams offer a trade that would be stupid to refuse.
But the chances are really low for that to happen.
so keep prayin because its far from close to happenin.;)

Psycho Papa Joe 07-20-2012 05:47 PM

Basically same reasons the Habs wouldn't trade Subban for Murray plus a 2nd.

LyricalLyricist 07-20-2012 05:55 PM

What's the point? I like Galchenyuk and I also like Couturier. Sure, Couturier is more proven by virtue of being older. It doesn't discount Galchenyuk's potential, it just means couturier is one step closer. Is couturier worth more than Galchenyuk? Sure. It doesn't mean it's worth paying anything significant to make the trade though. Alex just got drafted, he could end up better, worse or the same. I mean, why sacrifice more future just to accelerate the team's top prospect development by 1 year with a switch?

well not really, because subban played 2 years and has proved a lot more.
he also has shown that even with a bad team he can be extremely effective.
the chances of Murray being better than subban arent as much
as the chances that Gally has to being better than couts.
