Semin open to 1 yr deal if current salary is matched

The best opportunity for Semin to play on the Top Six would be with Carolina or Pittsburgh. Carolina would have a formidable team with top 9 of....

Jokinen - E. Staal - Semin
Ruutu - J. Staal - Skinner
Larose - Welsh/Brent - Tlusty

where as Pittsburgh would roll with

Dupuis-Crosby-Semin
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Kennedy

Both can offer him PP and PK minutes.

Why only one year?
Make up your mind and settle, man.

Le Magnifique 66 07-24-2012 09:13 AM

I would sign him but not more then 2 years.

From all I read, Semin wants a multi year deal, but no one is offering. NHL "sources" say he is willing to take a one year deal, but he wants the same amount 6.7 mill or more.

I want Semin on the Pens (for lack of other options), but if we can't get him, I wouldn't mind him on the Hurricanes.

I would do like 1 year 6.5 or two years at 12.

i always thought that it was very like him to just sign one year deals every year, hopefully snow makes an offer so he can play with jt, i think he would be ideal on the off wing of the moulson - tavares line

and it would generate some positive publicity for the isles after vis filled for a grievance and the rangers got nash

It's not like teams are lining up to give him 13-year contracts..

Nothing to lose, especially if he takes a 1 year deal. That would be the best

I wouldn't mind the Bruins taking a year on Semin, only a year though.

I could see Carolina signing him, that would give each Staal a great winger in Semin/Skinner.

Hivemind 07-24-2012 09:22 AM

What's wrong with the existing Semin thread? Not being able to put your sourceless speculation in the thread title for all to see?

Ivan13 07-24-2012 09:22 AM

Where's the source?

White Goodman 07-24-2012 09:22 AM

Ottawa is currently below the cap floor... adding a pure sniper to Spezza's wing would be nice. :)

Haha. Okay, move along folks.

The Wings need a scoring winger for the top 6, so unless they pull off a trade for Bobby Ryan (I wish, but not likely given their reluctance for big deals), I hope they are in on Semin. Hell, even if they trade for Ryan I'd still want them to grab Semin, which is a complete dream scenario b/c it's so aggressive.

Poor source and an existing thread. Punt.
