A Question for Preds Fans?

Shea Weber, and more often, his agent have made it clear to anyone who will listen that he no longer wants to play in Nashville and has all intentions of playing for flyers next season. The agent has been quoted in numerous newspapers and radio clips confirming these thoughts.

My question is if this is the case why would any preds fan want him back next season?

Wouldnt it set a bad example for other players, fans and management that their captain wanted out and is only back on the team because he was a RFA and not a UFA?

Full disclosure, I am a flyers fan and really would like to see the flyers end up with weber (although I think its about 60/40 chance he remains in nashville), however, if I knew a current flyer clearly coveted playing for another team, I would be pissed and wouldnt want that player back on the team.

Especially if the flyers were able to obtain 2-3 roster players plus 2-3 1st round picks for the player that no longer wants to be in philadelphia. I feel like that would be the best move for the flyers and a win-win for all involved.

For instance, Mike Richards was my favorite flyer's player and captain of the team and it took me a long time to get over him being traded and eventhough he won the cup with the kings I love the fact that the flyers got in return 2 key pieces (schenn and simmonds) and a highly touted prospect (nick cousins) that will make this team better for the next decade.

Couldnt this be potentially the same route the predators take with weber?

Could you kindly point to a quote from Weber on this?

He has two agents. If you read what Epp has said, his other agent, he said Weber has no problem staying in Nashville either. Just a little FYI. His other agent has been more vocal and in the spotlight.

If Weber truly wanted out of Nashville he would've asked for a trade, not signed an offer sheet. He had to know the possibility that Nashville would match so we'll see what happens in the next day and a half.

show me anywhere Shea Weber has said he wanted out and you will save yourself a flame.

1 agent said he wanted to be a flyer
one agent said he would be a total pro and enjoys nashville
weber has smartly kept his mouth shut

I think he's talking about what Bousquet has been spouting off about but he hasn't seen what Epp has said either.

The fact that your link comes up as ************* should tell you something. If you want to talk about stuff like this take it to the thread that is already talking about Weber.
