I understand the series this weekend holds some importance.

I'm going out on a limb and calling that the Bucs are going to pound the Reds three straight this weekend.

Harv 08-02-2012 10:24 PM

These games are basically 4 point games. (In hockey terms)

Huge series.

Le Magnifique 66 08-02-2012 10:42 PM

Let's go Pirates

Von Malkin* 08-02-2012 11:38 PM

I predict the buccos win 2 out 3 against cinci.

Go bucs

Taking everything into consideration, (Reds being as hot as they are, on the road, not having Burnett pitch) as long as we don't get swept, we will still be right there with them.

And they have to cool off at some time..right..?

They're going to let Burnett pitch on Sunday and push back Bedard's start to Monday. So we have a good chance to win at least one game.

wheelz87 08-03-2012 08:37 AM

That's a good decision. Bedard would get rocked with the way they are hitting and in that ballpark.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. The Reds have been crazy hot, but it's been largely against bad teams. Furthermore, they've been giving up a TON of runs the past week or so, but still winning. Signs that they're due for some losses. Obviously, we need a good game from Wandy. I'm afraid to even ask for a good game from J-Mac at this point.

Steve Durbano 08-03-2012 09:26 AM

Don't let the games get into Chapman's hands, he's unhittable right now.

thats what was said the last time we faced him. Then we broke him for like 3 weeks. Lets do it again.

I want a sweep so I don't have to here from Reds fans the next couple days about the Big Red Machine.

ColePens 08-03-2012 12:37 PM

This will be a nail biting series. The Reds are on fire and we are on the road. I'm not expecting much, but I'm hoping AJ/Wandy/JMac bring their stuff.

With us being on the road and the Reds being super hot, I'm guessing the Pirate doubters will be in full force once this series is over.

Damn straight, MT. Every other owner in my fantasy baseball league is a Reds fan and the message board is rick-diculous.

Dupree13 08-03-2012 12:45 PM

I hear that Tabata has been kicking butt down in Indy. If he could get back to where he was, he'd be the best option for a leadoff hitter that we have. It'll be really interesting to see what happens in 2-3 weeks if Tabata keeps it up and either Marte, Snider or both are really not impressing.

I love how everyday Reds fans come out of no where, mainly people I'm friends with on Facebook.

People could say the same thing about the Bucs now, though.

Snider i like. Marte isn't a leadoff Guy I'd say he's more of a #5 or #6
Snider i think you can put anywhere in the lineup.

I think this series has as much going for us as we can hope. J-Mac has indeed struggled lately, but Burnett, Wandy, and J-Mac are our best pitchers, and are going to be the three that pitch in the playoffs if we make it. I wouldn't totally discount Karstens if J-Mac doesn't turn it around obviously, but in terms of stuff, those three are clearly the best.

This series is what competitive baseball is all about. The Reds are a good team and probably should be favored to take this series at home, but these are can't-miss games.

Blitzburgh87* 08-03-2012 01:33 PM

I think the fact that we don't have to face Johnny Cueto is huge.
