Joffrey Lupul 100% after shoulder separation

The Maple Leafs winger skated Tuesday for the first time since separating his shoulder March 6 in a game against the Boston Bruins.

“I’m 100 per cent. I’ve had a full summer of training. I’ll be ready to go,” said Lupul, moments after a half-hour skate at the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke under the eye of strength and conditioning coach Anthony Belza.

“It’s been too long of a summer,” Lupul added. “Obviously, the way things ended for our team, struggling down the stretch last year, and myself getting injured and missing the last 16 games.

“It’s been a long break, and I can’t wait to get back and play. It should be an exciting year.”

For the first time in his career..also a career high in points..
I admit along with other people, that Lupul is a candidate to be moved at trade deadline if things dont go well.

Apparently JVR has been working out and feeling well.

His on ice-workouts should ramp up in the next few weeks, and apparently he's made efforts to get involved with his new team-mates in the off-season.

He seems to realize this is a new chance in his career to really establish himself and prove why he was selected second overall.

He's excited to be "slotted" in between Phil and Loops, because he realizes the skill level of those two and the potential for both of them to put up big numbers next season.

I am not selling Bozak short either, as he's been feverishly working out this off-season to ensure he's got a place on this team next year.

Really excited about all of this, but especially the bolded.

johnny_rudeboy 08-07-2012 04:19 PM

Good news. Lets hope he can stay healthy and play like he did for most of last seasons.

thrillhouse99 08-07-2012 04:19 PM

Good to hear, hopefully he can produce like he did last year before he got hurt. I also hope he can get on with Carlyle as well.

Lupul was always a 50 point player (top six) but had bad luck with injuries and didn't play with the right players.

Excellent, sounds like he will be a-okay to start the season on time. If the season starts on time.
