capebretoncanadien 08-11-2012 10:52 AM

Au revoir Cristobal. Good to know yah! You made one of my favorite saves evah!

DisgruntledHawkFan 08-11-2012 10:55 AM

League suits him. Was a capable tender for stretches mired by long periods of no confidence.

Flukeshot 08-11-2012 10:56 AM

No mention of it in the article, but there could still be an NHL out clause that may keep the rumors alive that he's looking to back up in LA or VAN.

In Year 1? Doubt it.

Lausanne is not even in the highest league here in Switzerland. They play in the second league:laugh:

Systemfel 08-11-2012 11:49 AM

Any reports on the amount of cash?

Winroba 08-11-2012 11:52 AM

So much for VAN

Kaner Coffee 08-11-2012 11:54 AM

I feel like this guy is hated on too much by Hawks fans. Was hoping he'd get another shot in the NHL, but still congrats to him and hopefully he is successful for this team.

IMO he doesn't get enough flak

Absolutely awful goalie who nearly cost the Hawks a cup.... Thank God Niemi was there to save the day

Thru all the crap in his last year here, he never gave attitude to anyone...He played terribly but was a good team guy...Hope he's happy where he goes, was hoping it was Van...;)

Huet signs 4 year deal in Switzerland

Sorry teams looking for a goalie, he is off the market.

JoeCool16 08-11-2012 01:07 PM

He's 36 and wasn't very likely to regain his form from when he was a legitimate starter. I don't think many teams were looking too hard at him anyway.

LyricalLyricist 08-11-2012 01:08 PM

Good for him. 4 year deal at 36 lol

As a Leaf fan, I honestly wouldnt have minded if he paired with Reimer to help mentor him and give some stability to the position

eklunds source 08-11-2012 01:16 PM

Age 35,36 is sort of when goalies fall off a cliff historically. Huet wasn't going to be the answer for anyone, though I think he might have had another shot in the NHL after Chicago somewhere if he'd signed for ~$3m'ish rather than 4yrs@$5.6m.

I remember tons of people booing him at the Cup parade. He smiled, waved, then grabbed Niemi and gestured that this guy was number one.

Terrible player, great guy. The Hawks have had a bunch of those kinds of players over the past two years.

Crimson Skorpion 08-11-2012 01:34 PM

I wonder what kind of money he is making. Good on him though for locking a job until he turns 40.

Carlzner 08-11-2012 01:48 PM

If it wasn't for him Caps wouldn't have made the playoffs in 2008!

Hip Hip Huet! :)

Why him? There are lots of goalies out there who can do that and probably play at the same level Huet did. Like Giguere from the last couple years. Did it really help all that much?

Besides, won't you have Luongo for that in a couple months? :sarcasm:
