Woah, is this the 3rd surgery of the off-season for the Flyers? Giroux, Meszaros and Lilja? Correct me if I'm wrong on the Giroux surgery.

You forgot Timonen (back) and Grossmann (knee). Not sure if Simmonds had surgery as well on his broken finger?

Hmmm He may be back just when the lockout is over.

I hope he recovers well but this is no big loss. If there's a lockout he'll be back for the start of it.

While its not a big loss, I say the blue line is cursed yugh.

World is over. Our barely ECHL level defenseman is out. :(

He might actually be better when he returns. I've never been a fan of Lilja but the main reason is his (lack of) mobility...if the surgery helps there we could be looking at getting an additional viable d-man back for the stretch. Ideally Lilja and Meszaros can be close to 100% in March and heading into the playoffs...and that's the key. This is a playoff team, the goal is to be close to full-strength in April.

Not that people should want a lockout, but it would clearly help this team if there was one.

I realize this is Lilja and not Timonen, but this is getting ridiculous. At this point the Flyers should at all times carry 12 Top 6 d-men.

Honestly, this is not a big deal.

The younger defensemen are better.

until they make a mistake then we have 6 threads saying so and so is a bust and needs to be sent back to the AHL.

Alright guys, calm down. I am going to let you in on a secret. Lilja isnt good at all. Addition by subtraction. When you replace a bad player with an average one. its like replacing an average player with a superstar.

Over last seasons Kimmo, Carle, Coburn, Kubina, Grossman, Lilja and Mez. Although I think Mez would help this season so much.

I know a lot of people don't like Lilja, but our injuries are so LOL worthy
