Lehoux done for the season

I saw CMGDT already posted this terrible news at the Monarchs section, but I guess it's worth a thread.

btw, I'm speechless.
This neverending injury bug always finds a way to hit us, it doesn't matter if the guy's a King or a Monarch.

And that clown who's supposed to be a hockey player, Buckley, that SOB, gets JUST a 4 game suspension. This just sucks.

Union Leader Report

This freaking sucks.... How can Buckley only get 4 games.... Damn injury bug...

Mr.Brownov* 01-19-2005 11:12 AM

That's fricken sad!Looking to be his breakout year in the A and a goal scoring leader.

KingPurpleDinosaur 01-19-2005 11:55 AM

ya, wat a tragedy. he was starting to really become interesting. man, we have the worst luck w/ knees

If a couple more top Monarchs go down, it'll be like the NHL never went into a lockout.

Capn Brown 01-19-2005 12:21 PM

I guess the bright side is (well, for the Kings, not Lehoux or the Monarchs) that this was a contract year for him. He got the max rookie salary for 3 years. Ending this season the AHL scoring champion would have forced the Kings to shell out twice what he was making. This way, they can sign him up for 3 years at 750k a year. I know, I know, not much of a bright side, but it's better than thinking gloomy thoughts for the rest of the season. The Kings will have a dirt cheap top sixer for the next three years.

If my memory serves me correctly, under the old CBA, all entry level contracts were 2-way. Whereas Lehoux never played an NHL game, he likely never received the NHL rookie max salary. I don't know what, if any, signing bonus was involved in his deal...

TK is week-to-week with an abdominal strain
Rullier is day-to-day with a sprained knee

We need him to come back bigger....stronger....faster.

Wow, it makes you angry just reading that story. From the sound of things, the suspension was like a slap on the wrist.

Good thing is he's expected to make a full recovery so at this point there's no reason to think he won't come back just as strong. Hopefully this won't effect him psychologically and make him soft. We've had enough of those kinds of players.

the suspension was a standard suspension for clipping. he would have only gotten 3 actually, but Manchester plays Worcester in Worcester that 4th game and i guess the AHl doesnt want a brawlfest next week.
the 2 teams play Feb. 9th.

Thanks, but it won't bring Lehoux back this season. Maybe Parros or Flinn or Rullier pummeling someone will..will make me feel a lot better.

Do you guys think that he's had a good enough season to get a call up when play resumes. I'd sure like to see him.
