Good for him. Played with a lot of heart. Fits well with Hartley's bottom 6 type of players. Hope the best for him.

Although I respect Begin and wish him all the best not sure how he is going to make the Flames NHL roster

Don't the Flames already have 12 forwards on one way contracts?
I guess if he settled for a 2 way contract it might work and Abbotsford is a pretty nice place to play AHL (except for the travel) but would a 34 year old Begin want to do that?

can he take faceoffs? might be good for the 4th line?

I loved Begin, total team guy, but I feel like this is the second Begin-ning of the end for him. :sarcasm:

Francis Bouillon (now a habs) has been training with Begin for the last decade and he said he never saw Begin in such a great shape. This guy is really dedicated to the sport and wherever he plays, the team will get a real warrior. Best of luck to him and I would not be surprised if he cracks the lineup in calgary during the season.

Are those his stat totals from his Q career? Don't know how a player who put up 65 pts and 400(!) shots in a season would be passed over in the draft.

Moose fan here. He's got a good shot but nothing else is good at all. His skating is terrible. He had hype before he went to the Q and was exposed.

Dont get excited about that. He had hype but he has been beyondbad since then and most Moose fans are pissed we picked him2nd. Doubt he does anything, I'd be surprised if he makes the AHL.

It's easy to put up points in the Q. In Simon Gamache's draft year, he went 64-79-143 and was drafted 290th.
