Eberle gets the same as Hall (Eberle signs 6 year $36M deal)
What do you think Eberle will get?

The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with forward Jordan Eberle on a six-year, $36 million contract extension.

The 22-year-old scored 34 goals and added 42 assists in 78 games for the Oilers last season.

I should have made this into a poll ... Mods, please add a poll.

More than Hall
Same as Hall
Less than Hall

April McEthereal 08-22-2012 10:36 PM

He deserves more, but probably won't get it.

OilDrop37 08-22-2012 10:36 PM

He'll get the same, and he should. They aren't the same type of player.

Physical: Hall
Hockey Sense: Eberle
Hands: Eberle
Speed: Hall
Intangibles: Both, Hall's leadership, Eberle's clutch scoring.

As Forrest Gump would say, they go together like peas and carrots...:)

Matt Ryan 08-22-2012 10:38 PM

longer term, same money

shorter term (to RFA), less money

It depends if you think Eberle will repeat the same numbers whether you like deal A or B.

Tarus 08-22-2012 10:40 PM

The same

Not as effective of a player as Hall, but healthier and more productive up to this point. Balances out for an equal value contract.

PierreMcGuire* 08-22-2012 10:41 PM

Probably the same, if not a little less. Can't see Eberle getting more than Hall though.

gooilgo 08-22-2012 10:45 PM

6m for 7 years or
5.75m for 6 years.

Everest 08-22-2012 10:58 PM

If Eberle elects to pull back from the table and wait til next year...who knows...

jumptheshark 08-22-2012 11:05 PM

42mill 7 years--give him the same as Hall--Eberle has shown more scoring skills while Hall has shown more grit--

oilers4life5 08-22-2012 11:10 PM

Put me down for Exact same as Hall!

Less total, higher AAV

MetaOil1993 08-23-2012 01:24 AM

I would like 5.85m 8 years. Will most likely be around 6 years 36m 6m cap hit like Hall.

Mc5RingsAndABeer 08-23-2012 01:37 AM

Although they have different agents, I think getting the same as Hall would be reasonable.

That's what I came here to say!

Put me down also for the exact same contract Hall got.

Could be risky though. Who knows what the new CBA looks like.

Also if Hall outproduces Eberle next year, then he may have to take less money.

KevinBieksa3* 08-23-2012 02:17 AM

He should get the same, he was #16 in league scoring and has led the oilers in scoring for the past 2 years.

I want to see this kid perform the playoffs, he was clutch in WJC

TheBusDriver 08-23-2012 02:20 AM

5.75 x 6 years

Joey McMoss 08-23-2012 02:23 AM

Voted less than but I'd change that to the same after thinking about it more.

Cam98 08-23-2012 02:59 AM

it will be the same unless eberle willing to sign a 8 year deal then probably 500k more cap hit

thadd 08-23-2012 03:34 AM

I think he'll get the same contract as Karlsson.

nullterm 08-23-2012 04:00 AM

Same cap hit, maybe a year less.

If Tambo took Hall's contract and photocopied it, I'd be happy.

Hynh 08-23-2012 04:03 AM

Probably the same. If not I'll bet it will be a smaller cap hit and only 5 years.

402 08-23-2012 04:37 AM

Well it definitly shouldn't be less eberle has proven himself so much more and this year he was probably the oilers brightest spot making the all star team get nominated for an award and finishing 16th in scoring the guy deserves more but id be happy if he got the same
Eberle out produced hall both seasons and stayed healthier some injuries like getting ur face stepped on are just bad luck while others result from the way you play in the end eberle was much healthier and much more productive if it wasnt for him these last 2 years could have beeen alot worst
