Good. Excellent. I'm glad he's going to continue to develop with the Canucks. He's got a good set of tools for a NHL goalie.

Lucbourdon 08-27-2012 11:26 AM

Thank ****ing god.

Luongo on his way out soon? yes/no?

Edit: After now seeing the contract details, It looks like luongo could very well stay for the year.

Probably, but this has little to do with it.

I seriously doubt Gillis or AV want to go into the season with two goalies - neither of whom have been a NHL starter for a full season. That is Brian Burke's "MO".

If Luongo is dealt, unless Lack plays 'lights out' in preseason, Gillis will bring in a veteran goalie to backup Schneider.

crazycanuck 08-27-2012 11:37 AM

Apparently there is no Lacking in your guys excitement for this signing...

agreed. Little to do with any Luongo trade.

Now if Lack signed a ONE way deal, then it'd be a little more obvious.

I think VAN will give Lack all the opportunities to make the team in camp, but doubt we see a Schneids/Lack combo as the go-to pairing in the season. I'll be surprised if we don't have a vetran backup (Luongo? :sarcasm: )

Obviously, given that it's a 2 way deal for year 1... The fact it is a 1 way for year 2 does tell me they do expect him to back up soon though.

Finally some news.

Good news too.

Too bad it is looking ever so likely there won't be a season.

Anzes Eyes 08-27-2012 11:40 AM

Depending on the new CBA, we will have him for another RFA contract. Very good news.

CanucksOo 08-27-2012 11:44 AM

According to Ben Kuzma and News1130, the first year is 2-way at 650/85. Second year is one-way at 850.

Mr. Canucklehead 08-27-2012 11:54 AM

Awesome news!

With me being the first to quote that, this board appear to lack the desire to engage in more Eddie Lack puns.

Henrik To Daniel 08-27-2012 12:55 PM
