First!

What does everyone think of Nedomlel? Cause every time I say his name, I want to say smash after it...

Yeah I really hope in a few years we see a pairing of Nedomlel-McKee because Nedomlel appears to be developing offensively than most project McKee ever will....but man oh man they would be some tough s.o.b.'s out there patrolling the rink (for GR obviously)

You talked at the previous prospect thread about Pulu, have you seen him play much this year? How much he's skating has improved?

I've heard he looks great and it's only bad luck that he hasn't scored much yet and skating looks better but still needs to improve.

I've seen two of his pre-season games. Here's what I wrote yesterday:
Quote:

Pulkkinen had a good game, skating well, creating chances and shooting often. It's only a matter of time that he starts scoring and the fact that he can set up plays just as well compensates the lack of goals at the moment. The whole team is stuggling to score, but they were able to get the win despite trailing 3-0 with only 5 min left. They had a lot of PP but very bad finishing. Should put Pulkkinen on the point...
His skating has clearly improved and he can now even use it to challenge d-men at times. Had a couple of rushes like this(2:26) yesterday. But it's still nothing special and definitely not a strenght like his offensive skills.

EDIT. Pulu just scored his first goal of the pre-season, a PP-goal.

Jokerit beat (just like Jarkko Ruutu beat Siim Liivik :D ) HIFK 5-1, Pulkkinen 1+1. Youtube highlights will be interesting...

StormSurge9 09-02-2012 04:54 PM

Paterson just shut out the London Knights in pre-season action, stopped all 46 shots faced.

Already off to a better start than McCollum after he was drafted :p

Jussi 09-03-2012 07:42 AM

Jokerit-HIFK goals (none of violent stuff, Pulkkinen scored the first one):

Smart heads up goal by Pulu. Crashed the net.

ChadS 09-03-2012 09:41 AM

Just stumbled upon Pulu's new picture on the Jokerit site and there's quite an obvious difference to last year: 2011 vs. 2012

He definitely put on a bit too much weight during the summer of 2011...

Detroit wanted him to put on weight but their instructions were faulty. :D

Mccollum had a great season after the year he was drafted. It was the next year he tanked.

I wonder if Järnkrok has a minor injury or something, because he has missed their last two pre-season games. Anyone have info?

Why so much love towards AA? I wonder what Pronman says about him in his report

I love A2. High hockey IQ. Still thin, but that can be improved now that he is in north America.

lazerbullet 09-05-2012 03:22 PM

CSKA started their season with 0:1 loss. Marchenko played 16:24 (6th among dmen).

Good to see him in the lineup. CSKA burned a lot of money and improved their team this summer. Marchenko has to play well to stay in the lineup.

Can buy Brunner at #6 if he's included on a prospect list. Cannot buy Almqvist ahead of Pulkkinen and Ouellet, neither in ceiling or probability. That said, I guess we are soon to find out(in AHL) if he can be seen as a legit NHL prospect.

Almquist being that high stood out to me, too. Still, I think the only question with AA is if he can handle the smaller rinks. If he proves he can, I don't think there is a doubt that he's a legit prospect.

Pronman is taking shots in the dark

Well he has a process he likes/uses. I also tend not to agree as well.

Meh, makes a good read if your bored.

ChadS 09-06-2012 04:02 PM

Tvrdon yesterday 0+0, -3, 2 PIM. Brynäs had a game tonight but I don't know if Järnkrok played, at least he didn't score. OHL-boys Sproul, Quine and Paterson have games tonight, if i'm correct.

The Zetterberg Era 09-06-2012 05:14 PM

Tvrdon had an A last night on his jersey. Bad start to his preseason though. With guys like Musil out of the lineup last night I don't know that he will remain in a leadership role though.

On a similar note Alan Quine has been named as one of the alternate captains in Petersborough and is now listed at 5'11" 188 lbs so getting pretty close to pro hockey ready as far as size.

With Ouellet already a captain it is interesting to see how many leadership roles our guys have coming through the pipeline.

Guys wearing letters: Ouellet, Nedomlel, Quine, Tvrdon (maybe, probably at WJC), Järnkrok.

You have to think Sproul will get one especially with the trouble a couple of his teammates got into, pretty much eliminating them from contention. I don't know if Frk is in the running as well or what Pulkkinen's status is.

A couple could serve in some role down in GR, think Lashoff is actually probably going to be captain there this year.

Just nice to see a lot of leadership and character coming up the pipe-line.
