Butler for Eliott is a bad trade imo, Eliott could just as easily return to ahl form outside of St.Louis atleast we know Butler is a solid #4 or great #5 defenseman.

Stop right there, it's the police!

Your proposals are atrocious for the most part, Glencross for Pavelski? Dream on

Flames Season ticket holders burn their tickets. That is not an NHL lineup. I see that you called it "rebuild fun" and it looks like you pot some thought into it. But seriously, take away the best 5 players and you have an average AHL team. I'm not gonna pay $5200 to see that.

Stewie Griffin 09-01-2012 02:03 AM

Oh look. This thread again...

Is it "rebuild" or is it "trade everyone"? I sense more of the latter.

Chris Butler 09-01-2012 11:01 AM

Even as a Flame fan that is brutal for PHX OEL will be one of the best defenseman in the game in the next 3 years we aren't getting him for a real good 2nd line winger and a hopefully top 6 centerman.

There isn't a single trade there that I wouldn't do.

Yotes are stacked at D and are a cap team. Cervenka & Glencross are relatively cheap players and their cap hits alone yeild extra value.

With Whitney and Jagr brought on board and Dallas rebuilding, Morrow is the odd man out.

I've been in favor of a rebuild for a few years but now that Hartley is coaching, I'd like to see how they do for the first half of the season before I would support a full on rebuild again.

A #2 defenseman for a prospect that had a disappointing season isn't terrible.

It's terrible for Calgary... Nino had 1 point in 50 something games. I understand he was playing 4th line minutes on a bad team but it really sets him back on his development.

But yeah it is terribly lopsided, NYI takes it and runs.

Idk a top prospect for a player that will be past 30 once this team can contend isn't terrible.

Nino isn't a top prospect. Him being drafted top 5 was a stretch. Giordano will be playing for 10 more years. Nino? He might not even make it. His development is messed up.

You and I might be pretty spread a part on values here.

Yes we might be I am a winterhawk fan and expect him to bounce back and become a 2nd line forward atleast in the future but because you don't think this I can understand way you think it is bad.

No, a line up with "potential" isn't always the better one. I understand it's for fun but its just getting stupid..

if the flames did a rebuild I wouldn't move Giordano or glencross btw.
