Mikhail Grabovski

What would your team give up for him? I'd be up for it b/c we aren't really going anywhere this season and I would love to get Monahan and Domi in the next draft for a future 1/2 combo. Send some offers

NyQuil 09-04-2012 07:39 PM

At his salary, I don't think you'd get a 1st rounder.

Probably my favourite player on the Leafs though.

Drew311 09-04-2012 07:49 PM

Grabovski isn't going anywhere unless he's packaged for a number one centre. Burke chose to sign him to a contract he would have been awarded on July 1st because he's currently our best centre. He's also the Leafs best two-way and defensive forward. I'm happy to have him for the next 5 years.

Gavy 09-04-2012 07:53 PM

As long as he wears a Leaf jersey, you'll be lucky to get a 7th rounder

would take him on the Devils for sure, but I know you Leafs fans would ask for Henrique or Larsson and that just isn't happening

If someone knocks him out of the top 6, ie. Kadri or a draft pick? MacKinnon ;)

The price would drop to maybe a mid-first and a mid-low level prospect? He's more valuable to the Leafs than other teams, you'll see evidence of this when posters will throw low ball offers.

I think he's easily worth a late-mid 1st.

There's never going to be a trade involving Grabovski that'll please both sides.

It's an odd situation. He has value, perhaps a fair deal of it, but not enough to justify moving him - as in, the players the Leafs fans would want in return are out of Grabo's price range and the players other teams would offer aren't worth Grabo.

I'm quite thrilled to just hang on to him. Great number 2.

Maybe, but I was thinking in the context of Monahan or Domi.

Phion Keneuf 09-04-2012 08:43 PM

Grabo's not going anywhere ....

blasted_Sabre 09-04-2012 08:45 PM

Hardest working forward and best C?

Ya, not for sale.

seanlinden 09-04-2012 08:49 PM

The Leafs just signed him. He's our most consistent forward and carries the line he's on offensively. Last year, he was probably our best all-around forward. There's realistically no way he's going anywhere, at least until the Leafs can get a top line that significantly outscores their opposition and they decide that they need to save money up the middle.

Alternatively, he might be available for a #1 centre, but I suspect that won't be what's offered.

TurdFerguson 09-04-2012 09:17 PM

I'd trade Chicago's first for him.

But I'm not really sure if he's the kind of guy we're looking for. Faceoffs? Check. But I was gonna ask if he can stand in front of the net on the PP until I saw he weighs as much as Kane. I'd get more into in-depth trades involving prospects/roster players if I thought he had the tools needed.

rockinghockey 09-04-2012 09:28 PM

You could get a 1st, 2nd and prospect for him. TO should of rebuilt the proper way.

By the proper way I assume you mean suck really hard for a while and get early picks. I personally think it speaks volumes when a franchise tries to stay competitive even when its easier to simply lose. That being said, Burke should have realized how thoroughly messed up the team was when he took the reigns from JFJ.

This seems fair value.

I would do that. Please people don't say just a 1st, that's what Paul UFA 3rd liner Gaustad got.

Domi will be a mid-1st pick, I was more thinking tank for Monahan and trade for Domi pick.

Maximan89 09-04-2012 09:57 PM

If Burke gets Joe Colbourne, and 1st and a conditional 2nd from Boston for 32 year old Kaberle you can only imagine what he would expect for Grabo.

Possibly, but there's a difference between the #5 pick, #35 pick and an "A" level prospect (think Nazem Kadri) compared to #25 pick, #55 pick and B/C level prospect (think Jerry D'Amigo). Grabo would get the latter but not the former.

sully1410 09-04-2012 10:29 PM

Luongo :sarcasm:

Dylbot 09-04-2012 10:38 PM

I really depends on where the salary cap is. If it's where it currently is, his contracts a great, if it's lowered the proposed 15 million or whatever, its sketchy.

He's a fantastic second line / boarderline first line centre nonetheless, so quite a lot.

CreeksideStrangler 09-04-2012 10:39 PM

Grabo is currently 1b 2a centre. Our best and hardest worker. He loves being here. More valuable to the team than anyone else.

If they got a 1st rounder for him I think it would be at the draft or the end of the season when they knew where the pick would be.
