WHL Rookie of the year for 2012-13

Who do you guys have as the favourites to win the WHL Rookie of the Year this year? Who looks really good in training camp and is primed for a big year?

Royal Canuck 09-06-2012 06:07 PM

from Victoria either Mitch Deacon or Joe Hicketts.

Hicketts may give it a good push. Can't name anyone else from the league, at the moment.

R S 09-07-2012 11:31 AM

Jake Virtanen

R S 09-07-2012 11:33 AM

Seth Jones too

Andy Dufresne 09-07-2012 01:39 PM

Brayden Point- just because I think he's going to put up a lot of points!

Jones might be the best and still not win just because he's older 94' born and usually the award goes to the top 16 year old.

Thomson might have an outside shot at it. He's going to get a lot of PP time, and the Blazers are going to score a ton of goals this year.

Royal Canuck 09-07-2012 04:37 PM

Virtanen and Jones are definately the front runners, no doubt.

Jamie Benn 09-07-2012 05:46 PM

Point, Virtanen and Jones.

Bure80 09-08-2012 10:26 AM

Leon Draisaitl

Watched him live for the first time last night. Talented kid. Raw, but very skilled. I doubt he'll contend for rookie of the year, but he could have a dynamite year for sure.

Just came in here to throw that name down. Excited to see him play.

It should be between Virtanen and Jones.

Virtanen has been big for the Hitmen for the few games he played last year.

And I don't think it's necessary to explain why I think Jones will be in the running.

Brett Pollock From EDM.

Played on his Peewee AAA team, great kid, even better defenseman.

Heck Jones is probably the best Dman in the league already what a stud.

Not one mention of Oliver Bjorkstrand? how is that, Brayden Point or Seth Jones I think could win it.
