It's about time.

Max Poulin was my Milt Stegall growing up.

I thought he retired last year.

Which is harsh. One year before winning.

Kent C Tugood 09-15-2012 03:12 AM

I've been celebrating all night! To an excellent season, and to champions!

Max was done with the Goldeyes for a couple of years, but they only retired his jersey number last year. Was actually a really nice speech he did. I've met him a few times in person, nothing but the greatest respect for the guy, shame he couldn't get the championship.

As good as last year was for this city, this year has shaped up the polar opposite. I predict that winter will be full of -40 weather to counter balance last year as well.

Finally some good sporting news. I raise your rum with a satisfying poop in the cat's litter box.

Hopefully by your cat

The Goldeyes came from my hometown in Minnesota way back when, so I feel I have some investment in the victory

Congratulations to the Goldeyes!

It's poetic justice that, after toiling in relative obscurity for years, Paul Edmonds and Rick Forney are suddenly the toasts of the town, and a bunch of athletes making next to nothing are our new heros, while the millionaire hockey players languish.
Good for the Fish and good for Winnipeg.
Evander who??

I wouldn't group Forney in with the rest of those guys, I'd say he's about as famous a name in the city as you could possibly be for being the manager of a low-as-you-can-get tier of minor league baseball.

Congrats to all of them though, I wish I could've been in the city for it. Were the finals games sold out?

dhfromkw 09-15-2012 12:42 PM

The three playoff games we hosted here had about 5500 people each. Short of a sellout, good crowds regardless.
