Contract years and lockout

If the whole season is cancelled, what will happen to the player contracts? Will Filppula and Howard still be FA's by July 1 or will the contract years roll back one year?

It will depend on what is negotiated. last time, it counted as time served

It's a near certainty that a year will be burned off the contracts. There will be no interest from the league to push contracts back, and little-to-no-interest from the PA.

they really aren't that far apart so i dont see a cancelled season. Unless one of the sides decides to pull their offer and replace it was something worse.
