Well voting sure has dropped off. Don't know if it is the lockout but it seems less people are around in general on hf these days. Not that I didn't expect voting dropping as we got lower, but still a very small turnout last round. Considering the low turnout I feel safe calling last round with an hour and a half left and to my surprise diminutive rearguard Ben Marshall.

On Marshall I just don't see it personally. A gifted skater but not really as quick as I expected from scouting reports when I saw him at the U last year. He does have good +/- numbers not that I am big on that stat, but it suggest he is better in his zone than I personally have thought watching him. Marshall does look like he will be able to get his muscle up to the 190 range by the time he leaves Minnesota. But even with his weight gain since the draft, the muscle has done nothing to improve his shot and he looks lost at times in his own zone. Hoping for a big step forward in his sophomore year. With his skating and four full years of college he will get a chance to prove he deserves a contract. To date I would not give him one, however he still has time. I just wouldn't put him in my top 30, he has long way to go. As far as De Haas and McKee I see them as better projects on the backend. Especially with Almqvist already in the system as a small d-man, could only see one of them (Marshall and Almqvist) on an NHL team at a time.

Since I am the only one that suggested someone Coetzee is the add.

Voted McCollum again. I don't think he will ever crack the Wings, but I guess add Francis Pare. He is a useful AHL player, maybe some day he gets a chance with another organization for a cup of tea. I think he would do well over in Europe also, which is actually where I eventually see him going.

I think Pare and Pearce are the only ones not listed yet.

De Haas again.

Add Maximenko.

Well since all of these players are long-shots to make the club, I'm gonna have to go with Bodin. He's extremely raw, but his size combined with his skating ability definitely gives him a better shot than some of the others listed.

Add..... Pare?

Went with Nestrasil - his stock sure has dropped

**** McCollum, McKee for the win.

ChadS 09-21-2012 08:22 AM

Wow, Bodin with 7 votes and Parkes with 1 :amazed: The other is a AHL regular and the other still hasn't made his Jr.A debut in Sweden. Age difference 3 years.

But since Parkes is already out of the race for #28, I'll vote against Bodin and go with McKee :p:

Went with McKee, at least he has a shtick.
