Trades during the Lockout?
Can they still happen or does there need to be a CBA in place for there to be trades?
|
im pretty sure they can but no one will; and the commish won't approve of any.
their always talking, tho |
They probably have a few planned if cap stays/drops.

No trades of NHL contracts can take place during the lockout, teams can trade players on AHL contracts that are on two way contracts

Are you talking about guys that were on AHL contracts? Like, actual AHL contracts, not two-way NHL deals? If that's what you're thinking of, I don't think NHL teams have anything to do with trading them or not and that's why they could be moved.

afaik:
trades of nhl contracts or 2-way contracts cannot be made. ahl gm's (often nhl teams' assistant gm's) can, however, make trades regarding AHL-only or AHL-ECHL 2-way contracts. |
2004-05
FLA loaned Eric Beaudoin to EDM's AHL team in January DET loaned Nathan Robinson to CLB for loan of Jeff Panzer in March |
AFAIK you can't talk trade when locked out
