Saw a local Whale commercial tonight during MNF! Excellent.

Beauty goals from Kreider, Kyle Jean, and Thomas in the SO. Looks like Kreider was throwing his weight around too.

Why isn't there a new thread? Out with the old and in with the new season. At least there's some news.

Kreider looks like a beast out there. I'm glad he's in the AHL this year, it's going to be real fun to watch him.

excited for some sort of "rangers hockey" at least, looking forward to paying more attention to the youth this year. i'll be at opening night for the whale as well.

I'm curios to see what the opening roster will look like, loved what I've heard from guys like Jean, Hrivik and Thomas among others. Time for Bourque to have a breakthrough season and Tanski, Tessier and Grant need to step it up from last year.

Hopefully Cam Talbot recovers soon, should be 3 strong goalies competing for only 2 spots this yeah (along with Missiaen and Stajcer). And no, I don't miss Chad Johnson one bit :)

I'm still shocked that the Rangers gave Grant an NHL contract... and still can't believe they signed Grant over Matt Read..

Word. They f...ed up that one. Grant better have a monster year, because last season his quality of play and production was in the lower half of the AHL in my opinion. :help:

11 goals and 12 assists in 72 games last year. He needs to step it up.

First preseason game is tonight and in Cromwell, Conn. I don't think I will be able to make it though.

I wonder how Christian Thomas is holding up playing against grown men now in the AHL...

I liked what I saw from him in his 11 games with the Whale last season. Definitely has some developing to do but he's got the tools. Looking forward to seeing him develop this season along with Miller.

Miller on the wing, I assume?

I like the mix up front on HFD this season.

-You have Kolarik, Tessier and Bourque who will provide alot of speed and creativity, as well as some experience as regards to RB and CK atleast (Tessier ought to be bound for a breakout year, right?).

-Kreider, Miller, Thomas has alot of quality on them.

-Guys like Newbury (he will play for HFD, right?), Grant, Haley, Segal and co are always important to have on a team.

-Guys like Jean, Yogan, Hrivik and co gives Gernander alot of options to to construct a well balanced lineup.

In order to be successful as a team though, you need to find that line, or mix of lines, that on any given night will provide you a punch that can decide games. I am not sure if that punch is there though, and if it isn't it could be a long year for the team. But no matter what, the kids we have will develop just fine. But I think it remains to be seen what results they will get.

Up front we are ok.

On defense and goaltending, however, eep. Especially with all the players in the AHL this season who would otherwise be in the NHL.
