Sportsnet Showing AHL Games Saturday Nights

Quote:

In the nightcap of the doubleheader (October 20) at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT, Sportsnet ONE heads west as the Chicago Wolves (Canucks) take on the Abbotsford Heat (Flames). Sportsnet will employ a three-man broadcast booth for this Western Conference showdown, with play-by-play announcer Rob Kerr and analyst Charlie Simmer calling the game from up top while John Garrett provides special rinkside analysis from between the benches. Roger Millions hosts from the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre, with HOCKEY CENTRAL rounding out the broadcast with pre-game and intermission analysis.

I guess they're paying the broadcast crew, might as well use them?

Sweet, I will be tuning into these.

Man, I wish I had sportsnet!

Anyone actually get 'Sportsnet One'?.. oh well, if it's on a sportsnet channel, it should be online somewhere.

Yup. If you have any HD sports package that includes Sportsnet West you should have Sportsnet One as well. I think it was originally set up to handle scheduling conflicts between the Flames and Oilers (one team would air on SNW and one would air on SN1).

If you're actually in Toronto you might be screwed.

Sweet. I was going to cancel my television provider since the NHL was the only reason I pay for cable, but Abby should hold me over for the winter.

That's great news. Will difinitely be tunning in to those Heat games.

MVW 10-05-2012 10:32 PM

Thank God! I wish Sportsnet would broadcast more Heat games on a regular basis even after the lockout. If the ratings are good, perhaps they'll consider it.
