RT @DanWoikeSports On #Lakers broadcast, Dwight Howard said he no longer wants to be called "Superman." New nickname? "Ironman.

Bruv 10-07-2012 11:50 PM

Soo Howard wants to be called Ironman and yet he may not even be ready for the season. :biglaugh:

So tired of Howard and his act.

It's only training camp and preseason but Ray Allen is looking damn good for the Heat. Doesn't seem like his ankle is bothering him at all.

This. And its a shame cause he used to be one of the most likeable players in the league.

A 20 win season would be progress for this years Charlotte Bobcats. That's sad.

Interesting year upcoming for the boys in PHX.

I like the assembly of talent they've put together, but it will be interesting to see how the chemistry is, what type of offense is put on the floor and how they respond to not having Nash orchestrating the offense.

Clowe Me 10-08-2012 09:07 PM

Gonna enjoy this season like it's the last. Because being a Kings fan, it very well could be.

The bigger problem is what kind of defence they can put together.

No matter what, this sounds funny when a Sharks fan says this!

McSorleyStick 10-09-2012 01:41 AM

Ironman ?

Ironman never cries

He drinks a lot, but he never cries

And I should stop watching games from the 80's and the early 90's on NBA TV

they keep reminding me how sad today's NBA is

I lived in Orlando as this whole thing unfolded. When I moved down there (Early August) people loved him. As he started his act, people just hated him. I just wish the Magic took Brooklyn's deal (Brook Lopez and picks). Either way they'd be screwed, but I like Lopez's potential more.

Eh, we've been hearing that for years. You just tune it out.

That was fine when they had the best offense in the NBA. Now, they won't. Now they have Beasley playing a major role.

SJSharksfan39 10-11-2012 11:53 AM

What is going on with Howard lately. First he calls out Shaq, now he's complaining about a nickname. I haven't followed the NBA as closely but it just sounds like Howard might be the biggest whiner/spoiled brat in the NBA. Shut up and play basketball.

Muh 10-11-2012 07:22 PM

Yeah, I am watching preseason basketball. Go Knicks!

I'm one of the few. Most Sharks fans are Warriors fans, since they play in Oakland.

Preseason basketball, uhhhh, just gouge my eyes out. Terrible! Unwatchable crap! But then again, my team is the Raptors, so...

puckguy11 10-13-2012 02:28 PM

Am I the only one whose catching myself still saying "New Jersey" as opposed to "Brooklyn"?

It took me a few years to get used to "New Orleans Hornets."

I was making an LA Kings reference. Do you feel weird when saying "GO KINGS" when watching a Kings basketball game? I never hated the Sac Kings so I never felt weird saying "Go Kings" in hockey.

Anyway, you really are in the minority among Sharks fans. An A's and a Kings fan. But I'm kinda like you. it feels like most of my fellow Kings fans are also my enemies since they are Laker fans and a number of them are Angel fans.

Oilbleeder 10-13-2012 03:55 PM

Alright so here is a question, which team that picked in the top-10 at the draft can surprise and grab a playoff berth?

Hornets and/or Nets.

But with the Nets, I don't think it should be a surprise.

Brooklyn, Toronto and Golden State IMO.

I don't think it'll be much of a surprise but Brooklyn should be able to grab a playoff spot. Minnesota looked pretty good last season before Rubio's injury and I think they can compete for the 8th seed in the West. Neither team actually picked in the top 10 because they traded their 1st round pick but they were bottom 10 in the league.

Brooklyn is supposed to be good and a lot of people seem to be on the Minnesota bandwagon so I'll go with Golden State as my surprise team. They have a lot of good young players and they should be an exciting team to watch. They just need Curry and Bogut to stay healthy. They have a solid line-up:

C: Bogut/Biedrins
PF: Lee/Landry
SF: Barnes/Jefferson
SG: Thompson/Rush
PG: Curry/Jack

Well, I don't "hate" the LA Kings. I dislike them when the Sharks play them. But, I was happy for them to finally get their cup this year.

There have been nights where the Sac Kings are at home and the Sharks play the LA Kings. Those nights are weird. I like and dislike the Kings at the same time.

After moving out from the midwest at 8, I lived in an area about an hour north of Sacramento. So I really don't have an affiliation with any city of the teams I like, besides them residing in Northern California.
