Tarasenko to NJ

OBVIOUSLY, this won't happen, but based on the other thread in the other section and how he and Kovy are developing great chemistry in the KHL, what would it take?

Everyone is going to say Larsson which is expected, but lets say he's completely untouchable and EVERYONE else is available...who would be going to St. Louis?

Nothing. The only asset NJ has that would be worth Tarasenko is Larsson.

Kensu 10-08-2012 03:39 PM

I wish.

nhlfan9191 10-08-2012 03:40 PM

New Jersey doesn't have any very good trading chips so it'll never happen like you said.

The long and short answer is that no player on New Jersey would fetch Tarasenko. That includes Kovalchuk. And before anyone jumps on me, hear me out. Obviously Kovalchuk would return Tarasenko +. However, with Kovalchuk's contract the deal would not work at all. Larsson, as good of a prospect as he is, is a terrible fit. Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk make him redundant. Plus, I don't think Tarasenko is going anywhere, until the Blues know for sure what they have.

Randall Ritchey 10-08-2012 03:57 PM

If everything else is valuable a Larsson is untouchable, I'd say Kovalchuk.

CarvinSigX 10-08-2012 03:59 PM

The Devils don't have the assets. I wouldn't trade him for Larsson either.

Henrique+1st?

Dolph Ziggler 10-08-2012 04:58 PM

I wouldn't trade Tarasenko, even for Larsson.

Not that Larsson isn't fair value or overpayment or anything like that, but Tarasenko fills a huge need.

He's what we've needed for a long time.

Robert Theodorson 10-08-2012 05:13 PM

NJ has a lot of good defensive prospects, but nothing that will net Tarasenko.

bluesfan94 10-08-2012 05:42 PM

I wouldn't do Larsson, because he's a RHD and we have Petro, Shatty, and Polak.

Kovalchuk would be someone I'd look at, but his contract wouldn't fly here.

Elias would be perfect.....a few years ago.

This trade wouldn't happen.

hlaverty06 10-08-2012 05:55 PM

k blues fans...

point is to get Kovy and Tarasenko on the same team, I think you guys missed that

Vankiller Whale 10-08-2012 05:56 PM

What about Kovy to St. Louis?

hairylikebear 10-08-2012 06:04 PM

STL needs star power. Kovy is the only thing on NJD that might interest them, and that's including Larsson.

Hehe, yeah. But I think Devils will ask for Pietrangelo. And even then... And I'm afraid with Blues financial situation Kovy isn't possible for them.

They have plenty of cap room now and in the future. Is it a real money issue?

Said everyone but Larsson was available. Then asked what it would take. That was the answer.

I'm so ******** this could never work. The Blues would be giving away a need for something they already have a surplus of.

Vankiller Whale 10-08-2012 06:40 PM

Edler for Tarasenko.

Luongo + Booth + Kassian for Kovalchuk.

Problem solved.:sarcasm:

And I'll say it one more time for emphasis: :sarcasm:

Out of curiosity, what would Vancouvers lines be if this were to go down?

Our defense takes a hit, but who the heck cares when you look at that top 6.

Devils Trap 10-08-2012 07:16 PM

I would love to see Tarasenko in a Devils jersey

We dont have what it takes

underslept 10-08-2012 07:19 PM

It would take everyone but Larsson...

In all seriousness, NJ is not a viable trading partner, especially after Parise left.

VinnyC 10-08-2012 07:26 PM

Zajac + Merrill + 2013 1st?
