Whatisthisidonteven....

Looks like Montreal gets fleeced, though.

Avs44 10-17-2012 12:16 AM

You should and will get murdered by Montreal fans. A young #1 D+a top 5 goalie for an unproven prospect with elite potential+an injury prone top 6 forward as the base of this trade is absolutely brutal. I doubt Montreal would trade either one of those guys straight up for Yakupov, and you have them giving up both for essentially Yakupov+a low value top 6 forward.

Let's not even go here. Please. :help:

jumptheshark 10-17-2012 12:18 AM

this will go side ways quickly because neither fan base you do it

habs fans will say Yakupov is a bust and oiler fans will say they are giving up the best players in the deal

thadd 10-17-2012 12:19 AM

1: Salary cap
2: Edmonton doesn't need a better goalie
3: Both teams probably say no.
4: Whitney plays behind Petry/Smid
5: Whitney will be a UFA after this season, so if the season is canceled the line-up will look very different.

N'either fanbase doing it implies a fair deal, and you can't possibly justify this being the case here, regardless of how Yakupov turns out.

So if two managers come to agree that they both hate a trade they're proposing, they should do it?

Example:

Team A needs d baldy
Team B needs offence badly

Team A's best d-man for team b's best forward.

That's supposed to be a fair deal just because it hurts both teams evenly?

Flawed logic.

Maitz 10-17-2012 12:42 AM

Jesus Christ... No way MTL do that... They give up the 2 actual best players of the deal

What did I just read...

This deal is essentially Carey Price + PK Subban for Yakupov. Edmonton does this trade 100 times out of 10.

I'm just gonna shut this down now, completely unrealistic and over the top.
