Board to Board Mock: The Draft

Hey guys... Josef_Balej who's been running this draft has been MIA for the last few days, and for the sake of getting the draft going, I'm going to post it here...

and... just so you guys know, he did ask me about a week ago to help him out with this, since he'll be busy with other commitments.... we'll also working on the SIM league out of this draft together (see post in Mock Draft Board on it).

anyways... here it is:

You guys are up with the #17 pick of the draft!

After the limit no vote counts. When I come on the board, I'll check out the result and reply to the thread to say who they drafted. Then I'll go on the board of team that is picking next.

Players Available:
Every players that are signed by an NHL club, RFA and UFA can be drafted (Ilya Kovalchuk Jason Allison etc.. are available). Unsigned prospect are still property of their respective team. So if Jeff Carter gets sign in real life, we'll place him on the Flyers' roster. Players who were picked to be Franchise Players cannot be drafted.

There will be 22 rounds of drafting. The only restriction you've got is that you got to have atleast 2 goalies.

At the end, your team will have 25 players (with at least 2 goalies), that will compose your roster. Then each board will name ONE GM, who will be the head GM for this team. All the other posters will be his AGMs. GM will be able to send trade proposals via PM to the other head GMs. A team's head GM should always start a thread to talk with his AGMs about what's going on. For exemple if I receive a trade proposal from another GM, I'm going to start a thread on my team's board and ask opinions on what I should do. The GM will be named after the draft is done.

Also, when the draft will be completed and the NHL season will have resume, we might start a keeper pool between all the team's board. That's my goal. What's your opinion about that?

I STARTED A THREAD ON THE MOCK DRAFT BOARD FOR DISCUSSION ABOUT THIS MOCK DRAFT! I SUGGEST EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT HEADS DOWN TO THIS THREAD:
http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?...958#post2392958
WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO KEEP A GREAT DISCUSSION GOING OVER THERE! I'LL ALSO POST ALL THE INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE DRAFT OVER THERE!

If anyone has any question please feel free to post.

This is a pretty random heated moment...

I do think so lad, you have not voted for any player so it shows you dont have an interest..which is why we is not you.

I must say I like the Komisarek pick. I also wonder about Leopold. I guess it comes down to whether you want a potential Leetch or a potential Beuke.

NewYorkStranger 02-02-2005 10:50 PM

Komisarek or Phillips sounds good to me .

Evil Sather 02-02-2005 11:44 PM

Daniel Alfredsson.

you do realize that i have more time to figure out who i would want the rangers to get. :dunno:

you speak for yourself and nobody else on these boards in the future try to remember that.

pld459666 02-03-2005 05:31 AM

Rangers should start from Goal out

and with that I suggest we select

Buffalo Goalie Martin Biron

NFITO 02-03-2005 07:10 AM

Guys right now you have:

1 vote for Lang
2 votes for Komisarek (pick only the first player on the vote, since you can't select 2 in one vote)
1 vote for Biron.

This thread can be stopped at anytime, since it's already passed 8 hrs... so you guys need more votes.

Alfredsson doesn't count, because he's been picked... and Smyth and Balej have already been protected.

if this thread stops now, your pick is Komisarek.... think about it guys... is this your first round selection?

don't think that sjb3599 post will count, since it seems more like a comment than a selection... gotta make your selections clear.

NFITO 02-03-2005 07:30 AM

I'm going to continue trying to monitor the timings here, if JB doesn't come around after a while.

Give you guys another 3 hrs and then go to the next team.. that should be plenty of time to get some more votes in (since you've had much more than 8 hrs already), or the pick will stand as Komisarek.

VanIslander 02-03-2005 07:46 AM

Another vote for Lang

Its not brain surgury. Pick someone already.

Speak for myself? I just saying we should pick up players with talent now not prospects because 1 SIM seaon is going to months to finish and it would be silly for us to draft a player in our first round that wont help us until 3-4 seasons. (considering im sure the SIM League will be long dead by then)

You can't go wrong with either IMO. I believe that Komisarek is better offensively (or at least projects to be better offensively) than Beuk was.

well lets hope not... we're putting in quite a lot of work on it, and if the core of the team management through the league is strong, then this should last a while hopefully.

and we'll be simming faster than NHL seasons too I think (1.5 - 2 seasons per NHL season, or by the looks of the lockout 5-10 FHL seasons per NHL season ;) )

and I do agree that Komisarek is not a good pick in the early going... prospects like him will be around later in the draft... if you can't get Komisarek at that point, they'll be others available.

but then again I'm not a big fan of Lang either ;)
