Abbotsford Flames vs. Chicago Canucks (6pm, SN1)

The Heat are playing the Chicago Wolves in Abbotsford tonight, expect a pro-Canucks crowd! It's on Sportsnet One at 6pm. They lost to Chicago 3-2 in a SO last night.

Flames fans should be excited to check out Horak, Brodie, and Baertschi, they've all had great starts to the season. Zach Kassian was a force for the Wolves last night, if you want a sneak preview of a future annoyance.

Edit: 8pm

Let's go Heat!

Set the reminder on my TV yesterday. :yo:

Still lots of good hockey to watch without the NHL.

StreakingRed 10-20-2012 07:38 PM

Anyone have a link where I can watch the game?

Go Heat!

Don't download anything. The game will eventually come on.

I believe its also on SN West and Pacific.

Trae 10-20-2012 11:24 PM

Entertaining watching Baertschi knocking down Kassian lol.

Calculon 10-20-2012 11:25 PM

Nice goal by Baertschi. Two points on the night.

Horak, Sven, and Brodie are living up to their billing as our top prospects, that's for sure.

Ynnek 10-20-2012 11:29 PM

Sven looks good and is a fantastic passer. I'm liking Horak and Brodie too.

Trae 10-20-2012 11:30 PM

Reinhart has had a pretty decent game too, finding his way.

WhereIsIt 10-20-2012 11:35 PM

Aliu would be one of our best prospects if he had a pair of hands on him. I like Bancks too, he'll get his shot on an NHL 4th line one day I'm sure.

I was going to say, he's looked damn good. All areas he's been pro. He'll be in Calgary soon enough.

Yeah he'll get call up duty this year if we play and a shot at a full time job next year.

Ynnek 10-20-2012 11:38 PM

I'm liking the future for the flames for sure.

WhereIsIt 10-20-2012 11:40 PM

I bet Brust doesn't do whatever that was in the middle of a tight game, hahaha.

StreakingRed 10-20-2012 11:41 PM

Heat 4 Wolves 1
Hitmen 5 Giants 4

A good night for Calgary teams beating Vancouver.

Brodie has been very disappointing against Chicago. He made a good play on the Baertschi goal but that has not been the norm the past 2 nights.

Yeah but he was one of the best players against Pieoria, and was much better tonight than in the previous Chicago game.

Anyone know if Ben Walter is on a 2-way deal or just an AHL contract? He looks very good.

I understand that, which is why I said he was disappointing against Chicago. I never mentioned the Peoria games because I had no qualms over his play in those games. But being better tonight than last night is nothing to brag about since he was still poor tonight. He was the problem in at least 2 dangerous breakouts by the wolves tonight, of the 2 that stand out tonight the first he made a bad pinch which led to a 2 on 1 and the second was a hesitation when he thought about pinching that caught him flat footed and led to another dangerous breakout while short handed.

Also Walter is on a 2-way Contract.

Hockey Night in Canada Classic:
Vancouver Canucks 4 - Calgary Flames 3 :sarcasm:

Seriously though Baertschi is great.

He is down there to make those mistakes and take those risks. These are opportunities that he would not be afforded on the big club and because of this there will be a few growing pains from time to time.

I watched both games of the series and to me he made far more positive plays then he did negative. I was actually impressed with what I saw myself.

His puck distribution and poise under pressure situations were a notch above every other defender in the series, that much is clear.

DevilsAnimal* 10-22-2012 02:39 PM

I thought Brodie played great, not like Breen, and Baertschi, but still great
