Col - Bos

Paul Stastny
Milan Hejduk

for

Brad Marchand
Dougie Hamilton
2nd

Boston beefs up for another cup. This would give them three #1 centers!

Colorado gets younger, more potential, and a new shiny Canuck killer.

As much as I love Staz. I would do this as an Avs fan.

BigBenSF* 10-22-2012 08:43 PM

Boston wouldn't do this.

The Dangley One 10-22-2012 08:44 PM

No way Boston falls for this

Boston has Krejci, Bergeron and Seguin. They don't need another center.

Boston doesn't do this easily IMO.

AvsFanRCN 10-22-2012 08:44 PM

As an avs fan, I'd do it, love em both, but hejduk is probably retiring soon and there is a lot of value in those other two players

Dr Danglefest 10-22-2012 08:45 PM

LOL wut? No chance for a Boston POV

Don't need another Center we have plenty, and Hamilton is going nowhere

Christian Litscher 10-22-2012 08:46 PM

Doesn't make sense for Boston in any way shape or form.

Random Bruins Fan 10-22-2012 08:47 PM

No way Boston does this. Boston is already deep at center and shallower a d plus the value is not there. It wouldn't work under the cap either if they wanted to, which they wouldn't.

no way Boston does this. Not just the fact that Hejduk won't be traded but because they have no need for either of the players the Avs are offering. Then factor in the salary cap...just not possible. Avs don't need to get younger (but Hamilton is really nice) and Boston needs to have quality inexpensive options (Hamilton/2nd pick) to take the spots of their older and/or expensive players.

Avs44 10-22-2012 09:23 PM

Yeah, done deal from Avs.

Boston laughs. They add another center?? Yeah, definitely need one of those. Makes zero sense for them.

BrickAHL 10-22-2012 09:32 PM

No thanks.

TurdFerguson 10-22-2012 09:47 PM

These teams don't make very good trade partners.

unifiedtheory 10-22-2012 10:27 PM

Um....No.

PierreMcGuire* 10-22-2012 10:37 PM

Bad for Boston.

Freudian 10-22-2012 10:41 PM

There is zero chance Avs trade Hejduk. It's very unlikely Boston trade a prospect of Hamilton's caliber without him getting every chance to show what he can do.

Boston wouldn't do the deal just for Hamilton let alone adding marchand and a 2nd round pick. This is just a completely horrible proposal. :shakehead

thadd 10-22-2012 11:05 PM

The value is fine, but it doesn't make sense for Boston to do it.

The value isn't close to fine, it's terrible. Stastny's contract makes Marchand and Hamilton the two most valuable pieces in the deal.

Exactly - now that I thought about it a bit more I doubt if Boston would do that deal even if Hamilton wasn't included.

dredeye 10-22-2012 11:57 PM

So Boston adds to their deepest position and trades from it's weakest. Makes sense. But why not go over the cap to do it at the same time.

Paradise 10-23-2012 02:44 AM

Definitely no chance this happens from Boston's perspective.

416Leafer 10-23-2012 05:33 AM

Boston doesnt need Stastny... Bergeron/Krejci/Seguin
Hejduk is getting older.

And trading Hamilton gives them a longterm gaping hole on the blueline. He's projected to be an absolute cornerstone player for them for 10+ years.

Why did I have the feeling a Boston fan would act insulted that Stastny was in a trade proposal for more than because they have center depth and don't need more of it....

The value is more than fine. It's a joke that anyone would claim Marchand has more value than Stastny. Let alone a prospect that has proven nothing at the NHL stage regardless of hype or status.

Just because a trade doesn't fit your team needs doesn't mean you go on to bash the players involved because you subscribe to the crowd mentality of "Stastny sucks".

MioneRask134 10-23-2012 07:30 AM

We haven no legitimate high end d prospect after Hamilton and that's we're we are lacking. We have enough centers. And while I'd love those players on my B's, it's simply a no deal from us.

Dougie is our d-man of the future.
