CHL Trades??

Just wondering when trades are usually made in the CHL, looking for some big names to be dealt(Dumba, Galchenyuk, Monahan and possibly Murray/Huberdeau if lockout looks promising)??? I seen Musil to Edmonton the other day...

TheBeastCoast 11-01-2012 10:54 PM

I am pretty sure it is December-January is the trading period. Not sure of exact dates or if that is just for the Q.

IHaveNoCreativity 11-01-2012 11:32 PM

Musil got traded ?

RJQuack 11-01-2012 11:36 PM

Only euros and 20's can be traded in the Q until mid-december... Normally most trades happen during or after the WJC's

Should be a good trading period.

I don't think so Niagara are a pretty good team, defiantly a playoff team.

Anyone think Rielly may get traded ?

He won't. I've heard that from very very very good sources that MJ won't deal him, regardless of what they look like standings-wise.

Any reason why ?

Look for Cody Ceci and/or Sean Monahan to POTENTIALLY be moved.

Teams do it for image reasons, they want to be seen as the team that developed and brought up a great NHLer. Makes your program look better in the long run (I guess) if you aren't shipping off all the best young prospects at the end of their careers.

Habsawce 11-02-2012 12:12 PM

I'm hoping Galchenyuk gets moved to Guelph!

This is always a big part of it.

Some trades even take place during the WJC's. That's usually when CHL rumours start revving up.

ReLyT 11-02-2012 01:54 PM

Alot of the big names wont move until teams know 100% what the NHL is doing.

SeattleShark 11-02-2012 02:03 PM

quick question. If the NHL season does get going can they call up CHL players? For example could Ryan Murray play this season for Columbus?

i ask this because if they can be ripped away mid season we're not going to see any of the guys who may have started in the NHL traded

Each team was allowed to put 2-3 CHL players on a call-up list.

Yeah that's what I figured as well, although I'd be more apt to think London over Kitchener.

Guelph would be nice since it's where I live now, and they could use a #1 centre going forward with an already surprising team.

Not anymore -- Steve Mason was the last player to be traded while at the WJC. They're not allowed to be traded while they're gone anymore.

A few years back Rouyn got Cormier and Caron during the WJC, but it only went through in January.

Exactly, they are not allowed to go public during the WJC with a trade that involves players playing in the WJC.

tjziel 11-20-2012 12:00 PM

I think the London Knights will be aggressive and sign them. We would have to give up something like: Chris Tierney, Remi Elie, Miles Liberti, 2 second round picks and a third round pick.
