NHL-ready defensemen the strength of Columbus Blue Jackets' prospect pool

The Columbus Blue Jackets had top five picks in two of the last three NHL drafts. As a result there system has a good amount of quality prospects that should be seeing formidable playing time in the future.

Many of these top level prospects are jumping at the bits to play in the NHL, but, as a result of the lockout, will be spending time in the AHL. The Springfield Falcons are off to a great start, which could be a glance into the future. Columbus’ offensive and defensive talent headed by David Savard, Cam Atkinson, and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault are beginning to come into their own and Oscar Dansk hopes to separate himself from the other goaltending prospects by venturing over the Atlantic to play in the CHL.… read more

The article seemed hurried and forced, in my opinion. Personally, I'd love to write these articles for the Blue Jackets prospects, as it's obvious that in mentioning a guy like Maksim Mayorov, the person who wrote the article is fairly behind the times as far as the CBJ goes.

Whoever wrote it barely mentioned Johansen, didn't even talk about him as a center prospect. Calvert was going to be a top nine this year? That was far from certain.

More like unaware. Looks like reading from a list, and plugging current stats. Hardly informative.

Whoever wrote this is an absolute moron.

"He has not seen the same success with the Elitserien’s Rogle. Through six games Zaar has only found the back of the net twice. "

It's the SEL. It's not a high scoring league. Zaar is a potential rookie of the year candidate. He's one of the top scoring players in the SEL that's under 20. He's been one of the best players for Rögle, who were recent promoted to the SEL and are frequently shut-out . Zaar scoring is a bright spot for them and hope for the future, along with the goaltending of Martin Gerber who keeps them competitive.

This, not to mention grammatical and spelling errors abound.

Seems like a rush job by someone who isn't very familiar with the Blue Jackets.

By the definition they use, Johansen is no longer a prospect, so I think that may have a bit to do with it

Nor should Calvert be, if we're going by HF prospect standards.

Calvert only has 55 games, they cut off at 65

I can see how those two games makes Johansen not a prospect anymore.

Hey, I never said it was a good system

Clearly they spent all of ten minutes writing that one.
