ECHL'er to join Baby Leafs?
 

Apparently one of the leading penalty minutes guys in the ECHL may be joining the Baby Leafs.

Blue Bennefield.

He's said to be a good penalty killer, some production, lead the Victoria team in +/-, but takes bad penalties. That's what I've gathered over the last few minutes of wandering the Salmon Kings' fan forum.

That actually was intended to support your opinion .. and get Frankie to spread his sunshine in this thread .. Perhaps I worded it poorly as my intention was different then the responses it provoked .. :)

As even when I agree on the rarest of occasions .. I don't feel very good afterwards and often feel light head and sick to my stomach as a result :D

you'll never hear me complain about the leafs adding a toughie! bring on mr.bennefield.

moro can't fight too much, he's too valuable on the ice. can't have him sitting in the box too much. in fact, he's under coaches orders much of the time.

If this guy does join the Leafs, who's spot would he take in the lineup? Palahnuk maybe?

Macdonald injury is considered very serious and he may miss the year .. So Bennefield toughness I believe is intended by this move to replace that ..

But MacDonald is that exempt vet on the team which Bennefield can't be ..so I would think that Palahnuk would be a good guess or Hubbauer, Englehardt seeing less 4th line duty in the future .. as well ..

any source on this? is this even true? :dunno: haven't seen anything anywhere.

i'd guess he goes in for engelhart. shedden seems to like palahnuk.

Brian Rodgers had it on during an intermission report in a disussion with Shedden that Woz and MacDonald are gone for a very long time .. have been to Toronto to recover and even possibly one of them is being sent to Pittsburgh to see a specialist .. I read it somewhere as well if I come across it I will post it for you ..

yeah i know they are both out a while. macdonald has a broken ankle. they said 6-8 weeks. but its been about a month for him now. and woz has a hip problem. he's going to see the same doctor that mogilny and mario saw.

did rogers say that bennefield is signed?

It was Wozniewski who went to Pittsburgh. He's got a hip injury and they don't really even know how long he'll be out for. Doesn't sound good. Something like that could potentially affect him for the rest of his career.

McDonald's got a broken ankle. They have a better idea of when he'll be back- probably around the start of playoffs.
