HEAT TO WATCH: Rookie sensation Sven Baertschi looks to be the future of the Flames, the highly talented rookie is tied for the team lead in points with 11. Not to be outdone, Roman Horak leads the AHL in goals with 10 in 9 games. Look for these two to lead a balanced scoring attack.

The second half of this back to back will be on sportsnet I think

This team is better then the record they have I want to see a strong bounce back game

OilerTyler 11-08-2012 09:35 PM

I think the Barons would be doing better if BBO would stop jinxing them by making GDTs before it is actually game day ;)

OilDrop37 11-08-2012 09:40 PM

Jordan Henry not playing?

I'm not sure, we signed a forward as well but I don't see his name/# on the Barons roster yet.

It's game day in Europe, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. We have a number of posters from those places :p:

Pumped to be going to my first AHL game. Hopefully the boys will do great.

Moonlapse Vertigo 11-08-2012 09:53 PM

The Heat are playing really well and the Barons' line-up looks like a hodge podge of "potential."

Easy Heat win.

Moonlapse Vertigo 11-08-2012 09:53 PM

Good God.... look at that penalty kill percentage. Beyond abysmal.

sorry to burst your guys bubble but that was only last year for every Friday home game

OilerNut* 11-08-2012 10:36 PM

Was going to go to this game, but considering it's a friday night, with rush hour, it would probably take 2 hours to drive there. Just not worth the frustration.

One more thing, we are going to try for these threads. Instead of having 20 posters asking for free links and another 40 complaining about the feed, I'd ask that anyone that comes in just before the game starts or after it has started to quickly scroll through the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pages of the thread for a link instead of cluttering the thread with "dude do you have a feed?". And let's try to cut down on the trashing of the Neulion feed, we know that it sucks and seeing as this is the 11th Barons game of the year, I'm pretty sure that most of us diehards will have at least watched some of a Barons game this year so it really shouldn't be a shock to the system when they are showing a friggin' mascot while a highlight reel goal is scored

Don't like those lines....

I'm pumped to see the kids playing live. The last pro game I attended was our heartbreaking loss in game 7 in Carolina (It still hurts to think about it). I'm sure the kids will be pumped to be playing in front of a full house again. It's going to be a great atmosphere tomorrow & Saturday.:yo:

SephF 11-08-2012 11:10 PM

Weird lines but some of them will end up getting pretty easy pairings. Hopefully Nuge can get Pitlick going.

Qrispy 11-08-2012 11:13 PM

Aside from Schultz, this team has been mostly a disappointment. Hopefully they can get something going against the Heat.

What's LOL? They're a .500 hockey team right now and Nelson has Hall, Eberle and Nuge scattered all over the line-up. Abbotsford is playing like a hockey team and the Barons are currently giving up more chances than they generate.

If these trends continue - easy Heat victory.

Jeff Lebowski 11-08-2012 11:38 PM

The Barons need to stop reading the press clippings about how much talent they have and start focusing on playing like a team.

ToeDrag83 11-08-2012 11:46 PM

MV has it right. The team boasts a whole lot of "on paper" talent, and "in theory" dominance. Calgary's only notables on the farm team are Baertschi and Horak. But that team's record is what ours should look like right now.

Time to start being a team. We've seen the big 4 putting up points, but they need to try and use this game as an opportunity to show that they can be great players. They have enough drive and skill to make the players on their lines perform. I'm looking at Nuge to get Pitlick kickstarted, and Eberle to spark Lander. Hopefully some of Hall's drive will rub off on MPS.

Eskimo44 11-09-2012 12:06 AM

I like the lines for the most part. Each of the big 3 should be able to drive results on a line each. With Nuge - Pitlick, Hall - Paajarvi, and Eberle - Hartikainen each lines has two capable scorers. VandeVelde, Tyravainen, and Lander aren't big time scorers but should be able to bring size and defense. From a development perspective Lander needs a shot in a scoring role. The only quibble i have is I'd prefer to see Arcobello over Tyravainen with Nuge-Pitlick.

Eric Hunter is the dude they signed. Former Golden Bear.

I like the addition of Henry, OKC could still use another vet IMO. Kevin Montgomery (would he leave Norway)? Even old Bryan Helmer would be a help. Beyond Schultz, Fedun, and Teubert i don't think the defense has been up to par. Marincin has had some real flashes, but he's still raw. Davidson looked solid when played but not top 4 worthy. Ringwald has been poor IMO and with Zahn it's too early to tell.
