2013 Mock draft simulated

I saw something similar to this on the main boards a while back, it is the draft order based on the weighted odds of where each team would pick, using the amount of balls each team would have following the rules of the previous draft lottery. I wrote a program in to simulate the draft order and the first order I got was this, I also went ahead and mocked:

1. New Jersey - Nathan Mackinnon
2. St.Louis - Seth Jones
3. Florida - Sasha Barkov
4. Tampa Bay - Jonathan Drouin
5. Anaheim - Elias Lindholm
6. Phoenix - Sean Monahan
7. Leafs - Hunter Shinkaruk
8. Columbus - Ryan Pulock
9. Calgary - Curtis Lazar
10. Nashville - Rasmus Ristolainen
11. Dallas - Josh Morrissey
12. Buffalo - Adam Erne
13. Winnipeg - Valeri Nichushkin
14. Minnesota - Max Domi
15. Pittsburgh - Zach Fucale
16. Columbus (Kings) - Andre Burakovsky
17. Boston - Nikita Zadorov
18. Philadelphia - Frederik Gauthier
19. Islanders - Darnell Nurse
20. Chicago - Robert Hagg
21. Colorado - Anthony Mantha
22. Carolina - Ryan Kujawinski
23. Detroit - Kerby Rychel
24. Edmonton - Bo Horvat
25. Vancouver - Jacob de la Rose
26. Columbus (Rangers) - Jason Dickinson
27. San Jose - Anthony Duclair
28. Washington - Artturi Lehkonen
29. Ottawa - Steve Santini
30. Montreal - William Carrier

Go ahead and mock yourselves :yo:

New Jersey getting 1st overall would be some schoolyard ********

Hennig 11-13-2012 10:52 PM

Montreal and Ottawa with the last two picks and with Toronto at seven, I'd be a happy camper if this is how it ended up.
Knowing our leafs luck though, it will likely be the opposite.

Leafs with 29 and 30 and the Habs and Ottawa sharing the 7th pick ? :sarcasm:

If that could happen I would be okay with that too I guess, it'd be pretty epic watching Bergervin and Murray fighting over who to take.
:sarcasm:

ohh the rage level of this board will be through the roof if all Barkov, Lindholm, Drouin and Monahan all go right before our pick @ 7.

lol

Can't be mad with Pulock @ #7 tho.

Dangles McGavin 11-13-2012 11:28 PM

Methinks if we're that close, that Burke will ensure he gets Monahan.

Wouldn't mind Pulock at all, though.

Morlesio14* 11-14-2012 06:46 AM

I would mind Pulock don't want another offensive D man.

Than it's a good thing he is praised for strong play in his own end.

....I'd prolly pop a vein or two...lol.

Pulock would be the perfect compliment player for Rielly actually lol.

What a defensive core that would be with him and Rielly.

calcal798 11-14-2012 09:18 AM

Prob rather have Shinkaruk over Pulock.

Kulemon 11-14-2012 09:42 AM

That would just be our luck. The last top end centre getting picked right before us :/

CHRoNiCWiLL 11-14-2012 12:38 PM

They should just do the draft order based on the sum of total points for the last 3 to 5 seasons. Every team being eligible for first overall is just a load of crap. Whole point of having the draft order the way it is, is to help struggling teams. Imagine if pitts won the lottery..... Crosby and McKinnon... Cole Harbour Line

Morlesio14* 11-14-2012 02:39 PM

I'd actually pick Lazar.

doorman 11-14-2012 04:07 PM

Honestly, I do not think the leafs draft 7th not lucky enough for #1 but 3-5 is where i think they land. I think Clb will end up drafting first, whether there is a season or not lol. If there is a season, well depends what the leafs do for a goalie tandem.

WhatASaveDave 11-14-2012 04:44 PM

i'd pick lazar or move down and grab domi

Robert Hagg is really good

HABS2DCUP 11-14-2012 04:54 PM

Funny, the Habs had the 30th pick in the prospects board as well!

Brewsky 11-14-2012 05:33 PM

OH LAWD!

Pietroangleo and Seth Jones?

Um, twin towers?

SCARY DEFENSE!

I am Canadian 11-14-2012 06:24 PM

All of the top 6 teams have made the playoffs in the past 5 years, that wouldn't be fair at all. I do not agree with the stupid lottery system they used in 2005

Maybe using the word strong led me to be misunderstood here, from what I have seen/heard he is more than decent defensively.
