If Full Season Lockout, does Pronger return in 2013-2014?

No, unfortunately Pronger has played his last professional hockey game.

I cant see it personally ,he has done everything he can in hockey ,i dont see him risking his a life away from the game for one or two more token season,s

If Bryan Berard came back after one of the worst eye injuries, Pronger has a more than decent chance of a comeback.

Difference being Berard was young and just starting out. Pronger has done everything there is in hockey and is pushing 40.

Correct, but I was comparing the magnitude of the injury rather than the injury itself.

I think it depends on the recovery he makes. If he's recovered by Christmas and the lockout lasts all season and he has no returning concussion symptoms, I think there's a good chance he makes a go at it. If he recovers in late August, I don't think he really pushes it. If he's still suffering any symptoms at the start of next season, then obviously not.

If Pronger heals and decides to come back, that's his choice rather than the Flyers choice.

Even if he got 100% medically cleared to play again (I don't think he'd ever be cleared to play a contact sport, but I'm no doc) I can't see him taking the risk, especially after hearing how much difficulty he's had trying to recover from this one.

Yeah, but the Flyers did not go after Weber expecting Pronger to be healthy in the next 14 years.

What difference does that make? If Pronger is healthy and wants to play, there's pretty much nothing the Flyers could do except either go over the cap or make room for him.

He's a 35+ contract and has a NMC. What a deadly combination.

You can infer from the Shea Weber signing that Flyers brass know Pronger will not be healthy again. Yes, he could get healthy and play with the Flyers stuck and having him count against the cap, but it is obvious that is not going to happen.

I heard an interview with his brother on NHL home ice or whatever it is called now and he said he doesn't think Chris ever comes back.
