If Full Season Lockout, does Pronger return in 2013-2014?

1 year of recovery time with no pressure due to lockout.

If that's the scenario do you see him returning next season?

Vikke 11-15-2012 04:30 PM

No, unfortunately Pronger has played his last professional hockey game.

topshelf15 11-15-2012 04:31 PM

I cant see it personally ,he has done everything he can in hockey ,i dont see him risking his a life away from the game for one or two more token season,s

illpucks 11-15-2012 06:20 PM

A bit surprised by the proportion of no votes so far.

If Bryan Berard came back after one of the worst eye injuries, Pronger has a more than decent chance of a comeback.

Vankiller Whale 11-15-2012 07:41 PM

I'd want him to, he's a great player, but I just don't know.

ottawa* 11-15-2012 07:45 PM

Hopefully he's done with the NHL...I'm pretty sure his life is a bit more important than having another go with the Flyers

Bleedred 11-15-2012 07:55 PM

No I don't think so. If he does return that's great, but I don't think so. I think he's done.

Difference being Berard was young and just starting out. Pronger has done everything there is in hockey and is pushing 40.

Wouldn't be surprised if he'd played his last game. Wouldn't be surprised to see him come back either.

Correct me if Im wrong but I thought it was post concussion syndrome for Pronger, not so much an eye injury.

Correct, but I was comparing the magnitude of the injury rather than the injury itself.

LetsGoFlyers1825 11-15-2012 09:14 PM

No, he is done. Remember that Shea Weber offer sheet? I dont think the Flyers have any plans for Pronger outside of the LTIR...

Screw You Rick Nash 11-15-2012 09:15 PM

Shouldn't he be all healed up by then?

deckercky 11-15-2012 09:15 PM

I think it depends on the recovery he makes. If he's recovered by Christmas and the lockout lasts all season and he has no returning concussion symptoms, I think there's a good chance he makes a go at it. If he recovers in late August, I don't think he really pushes it. If he's still suffering any symptoms at the start of next season, then obviously not.

If Pronger heals and decides to come back, that's his choice rather than the Flyers choice.

PCooper 11-15-2012 09:21 PM

Even if he got 100% medically cleared to play again (I don't think he'd ever be cleared to play a contact sport, but I'm no doc) I can't see him taking the risk, especially after hearing how much difficulty he's had trying to recover from this one.

Yeah, but the Flyers did not go after Weber expecting Pronger to be healthy in the next 14 years.

What difference does that make? If Pronger is healthy and wants to play, there's pretty much nothing the Flyers could do except either go over the cap or make room for him.

He's a 35+ contract and has a NMC. What a deadly combination.

BudMovin* 11-15-2012 09:39 PM

What does he have to prove?

laundryman 11-15-2012 11:10 PM

God I hope so

Really, I only want him to come back if he's completely fine. At this point I just want him to have a good life after hockey.

AJMHABS 11-15-2012 11:46 PM

I hope so, but I think he's done. Such a great player.

Puckgenius* 11-15-2012 11:51 PM

Hes done plus hes won it all and has nothing else to accomplish.

That he wants his $12,050,000.

InjuredChoker 11-16-2012 03:50 AM

I think he's done.

You can infer from the Shea Weber signing that Flyers brass know Pronger will not be healthy again. Yes, he could get healthy and play with the Flyers stuck and having him count against the cap, but it is obvious that is not going to happen.

nmbr_24 11-16-2012 01:51 PM

I heard an interview with his brother on NHL home ice or whatever it is called now and he said he doesn't think Chris ever comes back.
