1971=2 (of 14) (4/30)
1970=0 (of 14) (1/30)

------------
So in the History of the Lhjmq (Qmjhl), 7 first pick:
1981: Dale Hawerchuk
1984: Mario Lemieux QC
1987: Pierre Turgeon QC
1993: Alexandre Daigle QC
1998: Vincent Lecavalier QC
2003: Marc-Andre Fleury QC
2005: Sidney Crosby

So #1 pick from Lhjmq come every 3-6 years

This year could be a really good year for Lhjmq and also for Quebec native players.
This year prospects:
Nathan MacKinnon 21GP 35PTS (contendant for #1)
Jonathan Drouin 15GP 33PTS (possible top 5)
Anthony Duclair 8GP 10PTS
Zach Fucale
Anthony Mantha 22GP 35PTS
Frederik Gauthier 19GP 20PTS (a rookie, 6'4 220LBS)
Adam Erne 21GP 31PTS
Nick Sorensen 16GP 17PTS
Samuel Morin 20GP 4PTS
William Carrier 23GP 39PTS (impressive stats, he play on a bad team)
Laurent Dauphin 23GP 26PTS
Ryan Graves 23GP 6PTS
Nikolas Brouillard 23GP 16PTS

So, here's the question: Who's gonna be in the first round this year?

Also, do you think it could be the best year ever in the number of first round picked?
And for Quebec native players (Drouin, Duclair, Fucale, Mantha, Gauthier, Carrier, etc.) ...I think there never been more than 4 "québécois" picked first round.

The ones that I bolded have the highest likelihood of going in the first round. And yes for sure I'd say it has great potential of being the best draft year out of the Q.

It has potential to be sure but 79 will be hard to match

5 Rick Vaive GP 876
8 Ray Bourque GP 1612
19 Jimmy Mann GP 293
20 Michel Goulet GP 1089
21 Kevin Lowe GP 1254
30 Mark Hardy GP 915
44 Guy Carbonneau GP 1318
51 Norm Aubin GP 69
55 Jacques Cloutier GP 255
65 Bob Crawford GP 246
70 Lou Begin First guy that didn't play an NHL game
72 Vincent Tremblay GP 58
74 Gilles Hamel GP 542
82 Pat Daley GP 12
95 Alan Haworth GP 524
99 Marco Baron GP 86
104 Pierre Lacroix GP 274
107 Gilles Leduc ---
120 Mike Krushelnyski GP 897

Pretty hard to beat this draft in terms of depth and even qaulity of players that made the show.

79 jumped to mind perhaps there is a better draft year?

I know he wouldn't be a first rounder but I really like Samuel Morin. He's a very big, raw, project player type dman. I think he has quite a bit of upside. I'm sure we'll see someone take a flyer on him in the mid-late rounds.
