Stars plan to move their practice facility to downtown Dallas

The Frisco site was chosen because of land controlled by former Stars owner Tom Hicks (who also controlled the Frisco Rough Riders). But in the time the Stars have been there, they have seen just how much they have lost in media coverage and accessibility to the public since the move from Valley Ranch (the former offices and practice rink was just down the street from the Cowboys offices). So, the idea of a downtown practice facility has been broached.

Now, the move would take years. First, they have to find a site and work out the details with the city (possibly Dallas or Highland Park). Second, they would have to build a new building. Third, they would have to find a good use for the current rink. Itís a time-consuming and expensive proposition, but they are pondering the potential positives right now.
