Sounds like it'll be Hoyer, not Kafka signed by the Steelers today. Working to confirm.

Pittsburgh needs a big bodied possession WR. That would be great if Plaxico Burress is a steeler again.

MichiganWolverines 11-20-2012 12:43 PM

By the way what happened to Dennis Dixon?

Baron Batch and Marshall McFadden cut to make room...have to believe both will wind up on the practice squad in the end and Batch probably returns at some point.

Yup, they're both practice squad eligible.

Hide your guns!

Not a huge fan of the Burress signing.

Ugene Malkin 11-20-2012 06:24 PM

Why don't they just pull Farve out of retirement.:sarcasm:

JTG 11-20-2012 06:32 PM

Or Kurt Warner

Big McLargehuge 11-20-2012 06:36 PM

Needs more Bubby Brister.

Smoke 11-20-2012 07:06 PM

Tiki Barber anyone?

OnMyOwn 11-20-2012 08:42 PM

He'll do well IMO. He's in excellent shape and is 6'5". He'll nab a couple TD's the rest of the year, especially when Ben comes back.

ericfg 11-20-2012 09:53 PM

I highly doubt signing a washed up WR will get us over the top, especially with 2 QBs down. I'd rather see Hines being re-signed as Batch's back-up; he'd have a better chance at making an impact, IMO.

Sivek 11-20-2012 10:05 PM

Plax is better than Cotchery, so as far as I'm concerned the team lucked out with Cotchery getting hurt. Plax sat out of pro football for a long time, then came back and played with Mark ****ing Sanchez last year and played reasonably well. He's a decent 4th receiving option for a healthy team.

There's no risk and a chance of a moderate reward. As down as I've been on the Steelers this year, the AFC is wide open, so as long as they make the playoffs and avoid the Pats, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see them winning a playoff game or two and then who knows.

It's not a move to get us over the top. We're two WR's down and hes a good redzone target if nothing else.

JTG 11-20-2012 11:40 PM

I'm just not a fan of our receivers getting any sort of advice from him.
