Most Likely HOFer: Bergeron, Getzlaf, P.Kane, Kesler

In alphabetical order: Patrice Bergeron, Ryan Getzlaf, Patrick Kane, Ryan Kesler

All 4 guys have the ability to control/dominate a game and be the best player on the ice. All four are 2010 Olympic Medalists and helped lead their team to the SCF both with the letter on their sweater and their play.

This question couldn't become more premature, but who comes the closest to HOF talent (and has the best chance to make it)?

*oops, looks like there's a similar poll up already. close this one?*

Bure All Day 11-19-2012 04:22 AM

So far it goes like this:
Kane
Getzlaf
Bergeron
Kesler

for getting into the HOF

Kane has the most potential to put up Hall-worthy numbers, as he's still pretty young. Kesler or Bergeron could carve out a Gainey-like career (with a few more Selke wins) but they'll never match the team accomplishments.

Honestly, I doubt any of them makes the HHOF.

I Hate Chris Butler 11-19-2012 06:49 AM

None of them tbh.

TAnnala 11-19-2012 07:15 AM

I can't see anyone on their way to the hall. Things can change but at this moment i would bet that neither gets in.

Getzlaf is the best of the bunch and IF he can improve vastly then he has the best chance.

bp spec 11-19-2012 07:52 AM

None IMO. Very good players tho.

tony d 11-19-2012 08:31 AM

Don't think any of them make it but I had to ran them I would go like this:

Getzlaf
Kane
Bergeron
Kesler

PensBandwagonerNo272 11-19-2012 09:26 AM

Doubt any of them. Unless Kesler makes a big comeback and leads the Nucks to the cup with a Conn Smythe win

Four Boilermakers 11-19-2012 09:38 AM

Probably none of the above, but Kane has the best shot because he's already got some hardware and he's young enough to accumulate more. He's the only one who probably hasn't peaked already.

Christmas Izzy 11-19-2012 09:55 AM

The only one with a shot at all is Kane IMO

I don't think Calder is too big of a impact maker in HoF inductions. But the age thing is something to consider. Kane has amazing hands and can probably put together most seasons from these players.

Calder + Stanley Cup + First Team All-Star + Olympic Silver Medal + 3 All-Star Game Appearances is more than any of the other guys has. And he's got the best shot at accumulating more.

OzzyFan 11-19-2012 11:07 AM

Kane is too prolific of an offensive player to not be the most likely. Only way I see him not getting in the hall is if injuries hit him hard and his style of play says not likely.

Next Getzlaf/Bergeron
Last Kesler

Well Cup should not matter too much. Although Kane was on of the key players when they won. So it might have some weight.

I really don't see All-Star game appearances to be meaningful. 1st team All-Star is a good thing, so that might help him more than the Calder.

Olympic silver also is heavily based on nationality/team so it should not be deciding point.

But after thinking this a bit more, you are right. Kane probably has the best shot since he already has some accolades and most time to contribute more.
Hopefully he's Taxi accident don't weigh in too heavily.

I still think Getzlaf is the best of the group but he has not been able to perform in the level he should have to get in the hall.

Ceremony 11-19-2012 11:33 AM

P. Kane.

Le Magnifique 66 11-19-2012 11:52 AM

all good players but as of now I don't see none of them ever making it

Trap Jesus 11-19-2012 11:58 AM

I'd say Getzlaf, but only if he really picks it up. Bergeron will get his number retired by the Bruins but I don't think he'll get that league-wide recognition.

JetsHomer 11-19-2012 12:03 PM

Unless one can pull in a Conn Smyth or something I don't think any will make it. They're all good players but I think they'll all retire with a lack of personal trophies and that will keep them out.

SmellOfVictory 11-19-2012 12:24 PM

They're all pretty doubtful, but I feel like Bergeron might have the best chance. He's very good, and he has the potential to win a couple more Selkes. For a primarily offensive player, Kane's numbers aren't good enough, Kesler is probably going to get wrecked by injuries, and I think Getzlaf is too up-and-down with his numbers (also gets injured fairly regularly). When he was younger I would've gone with Getzlaf for sure, though.

MapleLeafsFan4Ever 11-19-2012 01:37 PM

Something else to factor in is that Bergeron and Getzlaf also have international sucess winning with Team Canada and that could work in their favor. Both have Olympic and World Junior Gold, plus Bergeron also has a World Hockey Championship Gold. Finally Bergerson is also a member of the Triple Gold Club.

MastuhNinks 11-19-2012 01:37 PM

Getzlaf after he signs with the Leafs and leads them to a few Cups. :sarcasm:

Mathieu 11-19-2012 01:44 PM

Like it's been said before, I don't think any of them will make it but I went with Kane since he's the youngest of the bunch. If I hard to put them in order :

P. Kane
P. Bergeron
R. Kesler
R. Getzlaf

b in vancouver 11-19-2012 01:51 PM

I'll pick Bergeron but a lot will depend on whether he can make the Sochi team or whether the Bruins can win a few more Cups.
World Juniors, Olympics, World Championship, Stanley Cup.
400 points while missing a season with the concussion and playing at half speed for most of the following year while also being the only one of the 4 to miss the previous lock-out season as neither Getzlaf nor Kessler were able to make their teams beforehand.
Selke trophy.

I just think the decision makers in the NHL hold Bergeron in higher esteem then regular fans and that once it's all said and done he'll get in.

Hammer Time 11-19-2012 02:07 PM

In order from most to least likely:
Kane
Getzlaf
Bergeron
Kesler

The Hall of Fame has never been big on two-way or defensively skilled forwards not named Gainey.

Khris Creider 11-19-2012 02:17 PM

Kane
