All-Star Game to be nixed soon
As a Jacket fan with tickets to the game, I'm disappointed there probably won't be an ASG in Columbus this year, but this is for the best. If there is a season, we need to play regular season games that weekend, not some glorified scrimmage. Hopefully Columbus gets the game back in 2015 - I think people will be impressed by Nationwide Arena, the area around the arena, and the hockey fans in Columbus - good fans who have endured horrendous hockey.

The allstar game has been as good as gone since the lockout started. If there is a season at all that week will be needed to make up games. Sorry to hear you have tickets but it shoulda been canceled before the wc imo.

If there is going to be a shortened season, I assumed that the the ASG would be scrapped in order to get in any many regular season games as possible. I have to admit, whenever this is figured out, I'm really curious to see how both the league and PA will 'thank' the fan this time around.

Whether you like the ASG or not (I don't) it brings in a ton of cash for the team hosting it. That cash will be sorely missed in Columbus, thats for sure.

What a bunch of loosers. I hate to loose. But with my waste, I need to lose my belt. |
I've never been able to watch the All-Star game because it's on a channel I don't have, but I assume there is a reason why it's hated just as much as the Pro Bowl?

I really hope it doesn't get cancelled.

The only cool thing about the ASG weekend is the skills competition.
The actual ASG itself is a snoozefest...good riddance. |

The Allstar game is a complete waste of resourses anyway. Pond hockey at it's best. The only thing I enjoy about Allstar weekend is the skills competition.

Can it go away every year?

I did not like the All Star Game. It was very boring.

The ASG is a big deal and a lot of fun for people in the host city, and pretty much irrelevant for everyone else.
I feel badly for the fans in Columbus as it's a big hockey schmooze fest and a good time if you're local. Hopefully they will get a replacement before too long. |
Yup definately the best news of the lockout.

Kraft just bailed as a sponsor - no more "Hockeyville".
