Who would you keep? Zbad, Silf or Stoner?

For whatever reason, if you could only keep one of the 3 following prospects, who would it be?

Jakob Silfverberg
Mika Zibanejad
Mark Stone

Zibanejad, I just feel like he will turn into one of those players you absolutely need in order to win. He's also pretty clutch.

I picked Silfverberg but you can't go wrong with Stone.

SevenOfSpades 11-21-2012 09:35 AM

Zibanejad. He's the safest bet for the NHL. The other two still have a 50-50 chance of making it.

Rumcajs 11-21-2012 10:02 AM

Stone.

Such a solid player. Huge fan of Zib but you never know if he will be the 45 point guy or maybe 65. Silf seems to me like a 35 goal guy or a 15 goal guy. Basically not entirely sold as many others are but I enjoy his playing style.

OgieO 11-21-2012 10:29 AM

Fun question!

I think Z has the greatest upside, but he's probably most likely to bust. Well, maybe that's not the right way to put it... right now, he's the least certain to make it (i.e. younger).

Stone has the least physical talent, but he's a tremendous player with fantastic hockey sense. But will he have enough physical talent to make it as a 50+ point player in the NHL?

Silf has great physical talents but can he translate to the NHL style of game? I love that release and if he learns to play away from the puck a little better, he could be a 40 goal scorer (with Spezza feeding him...)

I think all three have a shot to be all stars, I really do.

But if someone put a gun to my head, I think I'd take Stone. I just have a hard time thinking he won't be a very good player in the NHL. I think the other 2 COULD be better, but I'm going with the guy I think is a sure thing to be a good NHL'er.

Stone for me. (I am a huge Stoner homer though...been following him since before he was sens property)

I just think that one of these guys are going to be stapled to Spezza, and I think Stone might fit that role best. He doesnt have the best shot like Silf, nor is he the best skater like Zib, but god damn does he see the game on a rare level. He can do it all offensively, and has brought his defense to a new level this year in bingo. Now if he could just develop his physical side.

I think Spezza has evolved since the Heatley days. He was a pass first, pass second, and pass third kind of player, but now he looks for his shot more often imo. So I dont think he necessarily needs a pure sniper on his side anymore. A Stone-Spezza-Michalek line is the perfect combo for me. I mean what can that line not do?

Agree completely, except I think Stone-Spezza-Alfie is a better line. But I also see the benefit of keeping Alfie with Turris.

btw - I'm not even remotely close to being ready to consider Alfie has played his last game.

I picked Stone, and figure he'll be a good replacement for Foligno!

Qward 11-21-2012 11:18 AM

Silfverberg.

Future Captain.

Karlstrobe 11-21-2012 12:00 PM

Picked zibby, he has the best tools out of all of them to make it and stick to the NHL. And wow polls even at 9 9 9 a piece, scary

Qward 11-21-2012 12:06 PM

I take it as a good sign when we have no clear #1 forward prospect.

Let's see a Silfverberg/Zibanejad/Stone line

Dionysus 11-21-2012 12:22 PM

Went Silf, close though.

Cor 11-21-2012 12:27 PM

Leaf Fan Here (I know lol)

I have always loved Mark Stone, guy is a beast. Is going to be very good for you guys.

However, for me, you guys keep Zibby, he has speed, and a shot, and will likely be the best player out of the 3.

All 3 will be very good players, and hopefully help the Battle of Ontario become a great rivalry once again

darglor 11-21-2012 12:51 PM

I'd go Silf, Stone and then Zibby in that order... Zibby seems like the highest bust potential and the ceilings in general seem pretty similar, albeit through wildly different reasons.

tony d 11-21-2012 12:53 PM

Zibanejad

Jp20 11-21-2012 01:04 PM

zibanejad but you cant go wrong with any of the other options. BTW im a huge zibby homer and thats probably why i picked him :P

18Hossa 11-21-2012 01:10 PM

Silfverberg I have liked Silfverberg for the last couple years now and not just recently.
Zibanejad/Stone If I had to choose I think i would choose Stone out of those 2.

Benny FTW 11-21-2012 01:13 PM

Silfverberg because i finally decided to just chose one.

Hale The Villain 11-21-2012 01:18 PM

Stone is the only one I feel confident saying is going to be a top line scoring threat

Dysentery 11-21-2012 01:20 PM

I could barely decide, I went with Stone though.

I just see him scoring mad goals in front of the net, he has the touch.

Lehner 11-21-2012 01:22 PM

Stone for me

Caeldan 11-21-2012 01:27 PM

Silfverberg, because I like his number and have a jersey with it on!

OmniSens 11-21-2012 01:39 PM

Silfverberg

Zibanejad/Stone

White Goodman 11-21-2012 01:43 PM

Stone. :sarcasm:
