He's great vs lefties. Perfect for the DH spot and if Manny can play LF at fenway, he can as well. He's a very good teammate fwiw.

As much as I hate the Red Sox, this is a good signing Gomes will do very good at Fenway I wouldnt be suprised if he hit 25-30 homers

Disagree. $5 million for two years for a weak side platoon player that can't play defense is an awful deal.

Gomes isn't paid to play defense. He's paid for his bat. He hit 18 hr's in 333 pa's and had on ops of .868. Those numbers should improve playing wall ball at Fenway.

gomes is diet cody ross and the red sox got him at a good price.
