Misleading Title

Not sure if it's been pointed out, but I had to do a double take on Yakupov. Dude looks like a cross between Adam Henrique, and Jamie Langenbrunner!

Also HOPEFULLY with any luck by the time this thread gets to 1000 posts it's locked up because we're playing NHL hockey again!:handclap:

i this thread will be locked by the end of the month ;)

Holy **** Kovy's +17 in the KHL puts him in 4th place, with a 3 way tie of players holding a +18 for first place!

My god if Kovy could get a plus rating that good in the NHL, and an insane point total, he's a Hart Trophy candidate hands down. If his plus/minus was that good last season and top 5 in the league in both goals, and points, he would have possibly been a candidate. Still wouldn't have beat out Malkin, but might have been nominated.

KHL is still a different animal than the NHL. Closer than ever, but still.
His numbers won't translate back here, but it definitely seems like he's rolling with his more rounded game.

NJDevilsZG 11-22-2012 02:47 AM

I told you when he signed there, that if he keeps his D-game going, his gonna own the league completely - goals, points, gameplay ... and boy he is bossing around :D

Just as the previous one.

It`s less confusing this time around though.

Neither do I, but that`s awesome.

Sovetski Sport magazine is apparently reporting that Kovy is leaving, due to personal reasons.

edit. false alarm, Paper now quoting SKA, saying it's not true and he will play tomorrow.

His improved game might translate somewhat, but I agree, he won't be scoring nearly as much.

Nice feature.

Bleedred 11-22-2012 10:37 PM

I think he can score as much in the NHL, and he will I think but his streak is slowly coming down. He had almost two points per game at one point, but now it's closer to 1.5 a game. I just hope he doesn't use all he's got in the KHL right now.

If there is a season in the NHL Kovy will have played more than anyone else on the team, and have the most mileage by the time things get going. He already sees many marathons most NHL games to begin with.

Haven't been here in a while but does anyone think that Lou will sign a player or two from St. Petersburg SKA? They seem to have amazing chemistry.

Hopefully. At this point it would suck not to try to get Tikhonov.

manilaNJ 11-23-2012 12:30 PM

It's definitely worth a shot to try, he could probably be had for cheap.

There's a concern about him wanting to stay in Russia, though, no?
I wouldn't want to hand over any kind of value, regardless of how low, if he didn't show the slightest interest in playing in Jersey.

If he'd consider it, I'd love for that to happen.

Saugus 11-23-2012 03:47 PM

I think if Lou is interested in Tikhonov, he will get Phoenix's permission to gauge his interest in coming over before trading for him.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but doesn't the NHL control the Coyotes?

Or was that another team?

They have to give final approval on all their moves, but supposedly Maloney has more or less a free hand to run the team the way he wants to.

Teddy von Josefson 11-24-2012 01:53 PM

We should bring Patrick Thoresen to the Devils...

Wehe!

Isn`t that awesome?
