Alex Galchenyuk vs. Ryan Nugent Hopkins
There is a thread on the trade forum which has turned into Habs fans and Oilers fans saying who they think is going to be better, with each saying that their respective player will be. Some also say it is a wash and that Galchenyuk will be as good as RNH, which I don't think is the case. I think Gally will have a great career being more physical while putting up less points (60-75) IF he reaches his full potential. RNH could put up a 100+ point season IF he reached his full potential IMO.
Who do you think will be better in the NHL and why? Better doesn't always mean better point production. Take into account physicality, injuries, skill, size and everything before passing judgement. Hypothetically, Would you sacrifice 20-30 points of production for a bigger, hard-hitting and physical player? DISCLAIMER: I am not asking who is better right now. Just simply who do you think will have the bigger impact with whichever team they play with. |
Edmonton fans have to stop fishing for compliments about their young core. Really they must. OP knew the answer when he created this thread.

stupid poll is stupid. One played last year in the NHL while the other was sidelined due to injury in the OHL. Maybe you let gally have an NHL season under his belt before making that poll?
|
Ryan Nugent Hopkins.
|
Galchenyuk because RNH is injury-prone

This is it: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1296037 I am not "fishing for compliments" or anything. I know what we have has great potential. I just want to see opinions of other teams and members on the board. Not everything people do on this board has to have some conniving scheme behind it. I don't think fans of any team need other fans patting them on the back for knowing they have good players. |

Galchenyuk because RNH is unproven
|
Galchenyuk because he has more points than RNH this year. Almost double
|
galchenyuk ainec
|
Galchenyuk, because he's Canadian. Take THAT Ryan Nugent Hopkinsov.
Seriously, though... The Nuge 11 times out of 10 at this point, but that's not to say I'm not extremely, overly thrilled to have Galchenyuk. A potential number 1 centre who's got tremendously skilled ? Yes, I'm quite happy and no, that's not a banana in my pocket. |
Nugent-Hopkins because he...well...I just wanted to pick him.

I don't think there was one post in that entire thread that claimed Galy would be better than RNH, although there were some that argued they could be comparable.
Seems like self aggrandizing Oilers prospects polls are all the rage these days. |

This actually became a poll? :help::shakehead Everyone knows the obvious answer, even the creator. |
wow awesome poll
|
I picked Galchenyuk because i wanted too.
Going by RHN last yr in Junior and Gallys which should be this season i would say it's a wash.Gally is on a higher PPG than waht RNH ended with. All things being equal Gally >= to RNH.;) |
I voted Gally just to stick it to the OP's obvious attempt at stroking his ego.
|
Man THE NUGE IS SO GOOD. The big 4 and Schultz and Dubnyk are the best young core in the league of all time. Oilers are gonna be such a force for so long omg.
Happy? |
OP didn't make this poll out of the blue. It's from the trade forum thread where it was suggested the difference between RNH and Galchenyuk was small (or negligible).
|
RNH
This poll isn't fair |
Rnh.
|
fans of both teams need too many compliments in recent polls for my liking.
