They're claiming that this Soviet team was the first to be able to win against Canada any time they met, yet Canada had already lost the championship three times before. After the 1954 edition, it took the soviets nine years before they really started winning.

Congrats to Henderson and all, but what scares me is that this could open the door for him to get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Don't ever think movements can't be born from emotion and sentiment. Paul Henderson himself has said that if he had a vote he wouldn't induct himself into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
