Losing Flyers?

Hey guys, i have decided to resurrect from the grave and come back, for those who don't know me i used to post as KFFK. Anyway, If the players accept this new and final offer, of 42.5 million, cap Ho would effect our current line up and who do you think we will lose

there would have to be som granfather clause aloowing teams x amoutn of time to get under the cap or have a dispersal draft to to teams under the cap. That being said I expect the same team that finished the season back. Unless some team throws money at Zhamnov or Malakov they won't be back. You will probably have a Phanton or 2.

I really like Zhamnov, I hope he'll take a paycut.

I disagree, I think BC will/has been in touch at least in some minimal aspect and will give him 3y at 9-10 mill, this year prorated if it happens.

Malakov I can do without unless it is a one year deal. He only plays when he feels like it, eg. when a contract is due. More than one year is a mistake in my opinion. There are much better options next year and who knows after that with a new CBA.

Buying out Burke would help your bottom line! ;)

LeClair's new 6.84 million salary bein bought out would help too. Then possibly Amonte's 4.408 million but he might be worth keeping.

Phoenix is picking up half of his salary, just watching these vets contracts expire during the lockout should be good enough.

Exactly half or a part of it? At any rate I don't think it's in Phillys plan to keep him, which makes me think that the Comrie deal that the flyers did to aquire Burke; seems to make Clarke look like a complete bonehead!! :lol

It'll be cool to see Niittymaki start for the first 10 games or so as well.

NewBreed19 02-15-2005 09:35 PM

I think you guys have a real jem in Niittymaki. :)

10 games? thats like 30% of the season, i say more like the first 5, Esche should be ready by then

Winston Wolf 02-16-2005 12:59 AM

If we actually have a season (doubtfully) I'm betting on Niittymaki to play great, while Esche struggles, thus getting screwed into another damn goaltender controversy. :banghead:

I hope so seeing as Esche said he wouldnt play under a $100m cap. :joker:

From my calculations LeClair could now be bought out for $6.13 million.

Money left on his deal:
$9million * 28 games / 82 games = $3.1 million

Next year - $9 million

$12.1 million *.76 (rollback) = $9.2 million * 2/3rds buyout = $6.13 million

Reading the papers it sounds as if Esche played a huge part in getting the NHLPA to offer a cap.
