David Perron vs. Jakub Voracek

Who is the better player right now?

TheJuxtaposer 11-23-2012 07:02 PM

I like Voracek better, but I can see how you could choose either.

laundryman 11-23-2012 07:20 PM

Right now I think it's pretty even, but Voracek is so raw. If he fine tunes his game he'll surpass Perron.

Stizzle 11-23-2012 08:34 PM

Voracek is slated to play on a line with Giroux and has a chance to explode if/when the season starts.

Vankiller Whale 11-23-2012 08:43 PM

Voracek has more talent, imo. Give him a shoot-first centre and you'll see some serious chemistry.

StringerBell 11-23-2012 08:43 PM

I think Voracek's game without the puck is a bit more complete than Perron. Good poll.

Benny FTW 11-23-2012 09:05 PM

Voracek, never been a fan of Perron.

Avs44 11-23-2012 09:09 PM

Perron, always like him.

96 11-23-2012 09:19 PM

Voracek has one of the most complete skill sets amongst forwards in the game. He skates smoothly and quickly, and has hands great hands, a decent shot, and very good vision and playmaking. The problem is that he is not a good finisher. I can't count the number of times I thought Voracek had a sure goal and he fumbled the opportunity. I think his brain goes haywire when he's too close to the net sometimes.

Perron isn't as highly skilled as Voracek, especially in terms of his skating, but he does have slick hands and a better goalscoring instinct.

I take Voracek here because I feel he will break out this upcoming season with 70 points.

Eskimo44 11-23-2012 09:49 PM

Voracek has a good package of skills but Perron at this point is IMO the more effecient talent. Perron is a pure scorer and plays a smarter game with superior execution. I think he has a slight edge at this point due to a more polished style.

LetsGoFlyers1825 11-23-2012 10:49 PM

Right now I'd go with Perron, but I think Voracek is a season or so away from surpassing Perron.

Miss Jake. :(

lakai17 11-24-2012 12:51 PM

Perron, easily.

You mean like Jeff Carter? :sarcasm:

Stephen23 11-24-2012 01:27 PM

Voracek, but I am biased (Mooseheads)

Aucoin11* 11-24-2012 01:56 PM

How is this poll close at all? Perron is significantly better than Jakub "I can't shot or develop" Voracek.

HeliDevil 11-24-2012 01:59 PM

I'm surprised at how close this is too. I think it's Perron by a decent amount.

Rexor 11-24-2012 02:27 PM

Their PPG is almost identical and as far as I know, Voráček is more responsible in his own zone. No way Perron is "significantly" better.

Not quite. Last season tipped the scales for Perron in terms of PPG.

Why? Last year it was Perron's 0.74 v. Voráček's 0.63. Not a big difference, it would account for mere 9 extra points after 82 games.

I believe Voráček is able to become a PPG player with Giroux as his centre.

McTank 11-24-2012 03:00 PM

Perron easily for me

tony d 11-24-2012 04:01 PM

David Perron

I'd take Voracek, but 9 points is a pretty good distaance apart

One extra point for every nine games. It's nothing, especially if one is trying to sell it as the crucial factor that is supposed to compensate for Perron's worse two-way play and decide this poll significantly in his favor.

bp spec 11-24-2012 06:25 PM

Jake. Like him a lot.
