Favorite game that you've attended?

Simple question: I just got back from the Baseball Hall of Fame, and it got me wondering about how many people on here have seen historic games, or just plain fun games for them in general?

Mine was June of 2007, Dodgers and Blue Jays. Dodgers were handing out beach towels that night, and they were leading 3-2 I believe in the 9th when Saito came in and blew the save and let them tie. Goes to the bottom of the 10th with the Jays tacking on another run and now up 4-3, when the Dodgers get a man on with two outs and Olmedo Saienz comes up to pinch hit. Everybody started to wave the huge beach towels around, which was quite comical, and then he then proceeds to blast one to the left field pavilion for a walk off two run homer. Dodgers win 5-4. Best part was that they used that game as a promo to sell tickets on TV the rest of the year.

I was at a Yankees-Twins game in 2004 and a smoking hot drunk chick flashed the entire right field bleachers.

Never set foot in a MLB baseball park in my life

The Joker* 11-24-2012 09:18 PM

Saw the Yankees win the World Series in 2009 at New Yankee Stadium.

Corey Perry* 11-24-2012 09:21 PM

I've been to a lot of exciting games, but none of them stand out.

The Joker* 11-24-2012 09:22 PM

I also saw the Giants get their World Series Rings two years ago.

Game ended with a walk off E-8 in the bottom of the 9th on a fly ball for the Giants win.

The Joker* 11-24-2012 09:23 PM

Saw the Yankees rally from down 9-3 to the BoSox or something in the 8th 4 or 5 years ago.

AdmiralsFan24 11-24-2012 10:59 PM

Saw Rick Helling strike out the Tigers on 9 pitches in the 1st inning only to get rocked in the 2nd and 3rd. I think the final was like 10-1 or 10-2 but he did something that has rarely been done.

Game 5 of the NLDS was amazing last year.

Favorite regular season game was probably this one.

I've been to ~half a dozen Giants game, all wins but only one really stands out and that was when Lincecum got 15(?) strikeouts against the Pirates. Also saw the Jays smoke the Mariners like 10-0 or something in TO like 5 years ago

Edmonds hit two home runs and Blanco won the game in extras. After the game, my dad and I took the Red Line down to the Cell for the Red Sox-White Sox game at 7. One of the best days of my life.

Johan Santana's no hitter this past June.

July 15th, 2007. Cards blew out the Phillies like 10-2 to give them the franchise's 10,000 loss which at the time was the most in baseball history. (IDK if it still is.)

Cards hit like 6 HRs in the game.

I was also at the first game at CBP. I remember D'angelo Jimenez () recording the 1st ever hit there.

Most recently this year when the A's clinched a playoff birth with a 4-3 win over Texas. They then won the next 2 games to also win the division.

This was my all-time favorite to attend. When Scutaro got the bases clearing double to put the game out of reach, the place went nuts.

Machinehead 11-25-2012 05:12 AM

Damn I've seen so much crazy **** go down at Yankee Stadium that's a tough call.

Probably either clinching the division on a Bernie Williams walk-off homerun in '04, Derek Jeter's first Grand Slam, or the only playoff game out of the 104 games (yes I count, and I know the W-L too) I've been to.

I guess I'll go with the playoff game.

The 1997 Braves/Marlins NLCS game where Livan Hernandez struck out 15 Braves. (thank you Eric Gregg, I hope you are resting in peace!)

Manny Ramirez hitting a bomb into the 5th deck of the Skydome... I was 5th or 6th row, right behind the plate and it was actually incredible how far the ball went.

I just looked it up and it was 491ft, the longest ever in the Skydome. I also got Nomar Garciaparra's autograph before the game so that definitely has to be the most memorable.. I've been to better ball games, but that one stands out for those reasons.

You mean his first one or the one he's going to have this year? ;)

The A's were much better than that Mets team. That series had no business going 7. But, winning game 7 made it worth it.

Unfortunately I did not own a camera phone in 2004. The kid in front of me snapped a bunch of pictures though and spent the rest of the game showing them off. Also I'm 60% sure Spike Lee was sitting two rows back of me that night.

puckguy11 11-25-2012 06:31 PM

I was in the building for the Diamondbacks' second ever game. My family not only had 4th row seats, but the D-Back catcher at the time threw a ball into the stands after fielding drills and I caught it. Still have it too.
