Dallas's New Uni's - UPDATE: Green will be the dominant colour.

The Dallas Stars are still under a lockout. But when they return, owner Tom Gaglardi told The Ticket radio recently that plans are in place to reveal a new jersey for his team.

I think our jerseys have taken an interesting... team, we've had a history of changing our jerseys quite often. Ended up in the place now with our current jerseys, which I quite like. But a couple things bother me, and one is that we're the only team of 30 that doesn't wear our logo on our chest... bit of a lack of color with our current kit. We're looking all those things, up to and including if we want to modify our primary logo as well.

"I'm a purist, and I'd like to see us with a timeless classic jersey with timeless classic colors."

Dallas Stars TV analyst Daryl "Razor" Reaugh said last year, the new Stars ownership should change the color of their uniforms.

Razor wrote then: "With new ownership will come changes - changes for the good we all trust, and changes that maybe should include the very colors the franchise flies. Remember when Mark Cuban bought the Mavericks back in 2000, what was one of the first things he did? That's right, he re-imagined the Mavs colors and logo. He rebranded.

"So what is Dallas' 'color'? Well blue seems to be a pretty strong thread. And the flag of Texas would seem to provide a red and a white that complement the blue well. Vibrant. American. Texan."

yuck

The second is far too reminescent of the caps home jersey imho. Same colors arranged in such a way it would hardly be different seen from afar.

Reign Nateo 11-28-2012 05:23 PM

Too many red/blue teams, they should stick with their own colour scheme.

SerenityRick 11-28-2012 05:24 PM

The bottom one reminds me a little bit too much like the Washington Capitals' jersey

I like the Stars current Jersey. If it ain't broke...

Agreed. And green is nice, very few teams use it so its original. Since its a darker green its classy and ages well. Other than Minny and Stars, does any other NHL team have a lot of green on their jerseys?

Dallas barely even uses green

This x1000

The only reason dallas' colours were green is because that was the north stars colour. There 'logo' right now is worse than the canucks. Even the Toronto womens team doesnt use those silly word art anymore. The green star was awesome and the late 90s/early 2000s stars had the cool jerseys

blueberrydanish 11-28-2012 05:33 PM

Are they trying to make it hard for me to like one of my favorite teams?

gordie 11-28-2012 05:35 PM

This will completely erase the last shred of the Minnesota North Stars from the NHL.

Red, white, and blue with a big star on the chest....

Why have a similar jersey to another team though?

In my opinion that second one looks too much like a Washington home jersey and the top looks too much like a recent All-Star game jersey, not sure which year.

The colors are fine but there's probably better things they could do with them.

Home = Rangers
Away = Capitals.

Add in Habs and Blue Jackets. There are more than enough Red/White/Blue teams.

Was going to say....

Kloparren 11-28-2012 06:29 PM

They won a cup with their current scheme and once you've won a cup then...

Plus the current ones retained the green due to the Minnesota NS affiliation where much of their fan base I'd guess comes from.

There are too many black teams, and Dallas are basically black and white. With a little hint of greenish brown.

I would be fully behind a Dallas re-branding. Not necessarily to this scheme in the first post, but to something.

Just one of the most spartan, uninspired uniforms out there. It looks like a practice jersey.

Please just bring back these beauties.

Kovalev27 11-28-2012 06:44 PM

Why wouldn't u do a cowboys type silver blue and white?

xX Hot Fuss 11-28-2012 06:45 PM

Yeah I really don't get what was wrong with those 90's jerseys that Madono, Hull, and Turco made famous

This has been talked about non stop on the Stars board. The whole red white and blue thing was brought up by our color analyst, Daryl "Razor" Reaugh. It's is pretty much unanimous amongst Stars fans that green needs to be the main color.

The latest rumor of color scheme is something with green/silver and white. Someone said blue might be somewhere in that too. The logo is likely changing as well. Our owner was on local radio a couple weeks ago and said he wants a timeless/traditional sweater. I highly doubt the final version is anything like the OP.

Also, the reason the Stars had to change the design to the current one is because RBK said the star striping was too complicated. (I'm talking about the star outline throughout the pits of the sweater).

Here's the thread (started in 2010) with all the talk about it:http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...d.php?t=807706
