4th year anniversary

4 years ago today, he was hired as GM/President.

Something kind of interesting:

Oh that was today?

Probably because he's been in his 4th year for a while now.

This thread will go well.....

ACC1224 11-29-2012 04:16 PM

2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 = 4 entry drafts, 4 trade deadlines, 4 UFA seasons.

So this current lockout season in progress would be his 5th season as Leafs GM.

I was just going to say I've been hearing for a couple years he's 5 seasons in. Then I scrolled a couple posts below this and surprise, surprise!

We'll be good guys, one day. Burke can only do so much with what he was given.

The wait continues.

achtungbaby 11-29-2012 05:24 PM

A five year plan suddenly looks pretty good.:)

Yes but we haven't lost a game this year, well this Fall I mean. :help: :help:

But he has been here for 4 years..

If only burke had just gone with the "five year" plan, instead of trying to do a speed retool.

Could have had so much more than Kessel.

But ultimately it wasn't up to him. They told him not to. The biggest mistake was signing Gerber..

Funny enough, Ron Wilson was the only guy willing to admit they were at least 5 years away while Burke kept on talking about an accelerated retool.

The realists have always known it was going to be a while till we got on track. I'll be worried if the Leafs are no closer by the end of the next full season.

blasted_Sabre 11-29-2012 07:31 PM

Just shows how much of a mess this team was when he got here.

Agreed, 4 years spread across 5 NHL seasons.

If today is his 4 year anniversary that means 4 complete years have passed, and as of tomorrow everyone will be in agreement he is in year 5, so no more confusion. ;)

Mike1 11-29-2012 07:46 PM

What a waste of time this guy has turned out to be. The lock-out was the best thing to happen to Burke. All sizzle, no substance.

Wait though....Is it not even more confusing having to caclulate the time lost due to the lock out? :p:

Leafs For Life* 11-29-2012 07:50 PM

So this means we are winning cup this year?

marty111 11-29-2012 07:58 PM

Burke is the best GM this team has ever seen... just be patient guys...

But he hasn't been able to do anything since September 15th :teach:

Well on the positive for Burke the lockout made sure he wouldn't get fired before his 4th anniversary.

Getting closer to the point where Burke will be allowed to be criticized for the results.
