Very similar career length but Leetch put up almost 300 more points.

I think Leetch had more offensive creativity.

Niedermayer never broke 70 points. Leetch did it 7 times. I would say Nidermayer was marginally better defensively, but not enough to make that up, especially when you consider that Leetch had alot less to work with towards the end of his career playing for some brutal teams.

Also Leetch was a full PPG player in the playoffs in his career. Niedermayer wasn't even 0.5 PPG in the playoffs.

Now Niedermayer played twice the games which makes his PPG less sustainable, but again, that doesn't make up a gap that big.

Leetch played a good chunk of his career in the DPE too and out scored Niedermayer by a significant margin nearly every season.

I think they were comparable defensively, but Leetch was much better offensively.
